    Jun 4, 2012 - BANE Vest Overhaul! (Update 7-18-12) #1
    So ive been working on my own Bane for the premier. A friend of mine is waiting on his UD Batsuit and i thought what the hey!!

    The mask was made by my good friend Selman over at Gotham City FX, the mask is awesome!

    The Vest was a couple of Vest I bought off of ebay and put together, while not accurate (and when do we ever do anything accurate?) I think it gets the point across. I completly dirtied these vest up and painted the shoulder pads a grey to match the Movie vest!

    I took a couple black leather gauntlets I had laying around and fashioned up myself a Bane gauntlet (again nowhere near accurate) I added some old brown belts and rivited them to the gauntlets, I then weathered the whole thing.

    I will be adding DK Grey BDUs and weathering them as well, Im going to cut the color off the shirt to give it that movie-esq look and topping it off with black combat boots.

    Im hoping to have it done by saturday, pics to follow.

    Not a bad costume for being thrown together,no to thread jack but if you wanted to add to the look you could add some alice straps to the top of the vest like mine here

    Im not worried about it looking 100% though, im not really a 1005 accurate kinda guy! Ive seen your pics and your bane is awesome! Im not near big enough to go shirtless

    Shades, we will defiently be at mid ohio again this year!! and RD seems to dwarl the Bat, LOL! Thats the way it should be!

    I very well could. I should be a decent weight to pull off a good looking Bane too..if I wanted to devote the energy to the costume. LOL

    Its funny the Batman in that pic is taller than me so he does the fighting pose to look shorter, I am 5' 11" and I am wearing 2.5 inch lifts in my boots lol.

    yeah mine was completely custom and the problem with the vest is there is nothing to base it off of because its 100% custom for the movie

    Lol he shouldn't have made himself seem shorter. Tom Hardy the guy playing bane is only 5'9 and Christian Bale is over 6 ft... It would've been movie authentic. But awesome job on the costume.

    Same for the OP. You guys did AWESOME JOBS. I want to do a bane costume as well. Only thing is i need to bulk up. and i want to buy the jacket hes shown with at the football game in the trailer...any advice?

    ok thanks... The comic con i go to is the one in NYC in middle October so the jacket would be nice in the weather. Especially with the walk from the parking garages to the convention center lol. Also the jacket looks bad ass.

    I just got a cheap pair of BDU's off of ebat bleached them greyish them weathered them out!
    I then added a pair of knee pads i used for refinishing my floor

    I've seen knock off crye pants on ebay. While they are a lot cheaper than the real thing, they still have the built in knee pads.
