Back to the Future II: Marty's Jacket (the holy grail of BTTF props)

Of course, I know that the colors of clothing can change after such a long time. Maybe the shades of gray were exactly the same at the screen used jacket, when it was new. The only question to myself is: If the colors on points 1, 2 and 3 are the same, as we can see on Ed's replica, and the colors were just getting darker in 20 years, why is the shade of gray on point 2 still bright at the original jacket? Is it because it's made of another material?

I just want to help to find inaccuracies, so please don't get me wrong, because I really don't want to denigrate Ed's certainly hard work on this jacket. It's the best replica of this jacket, that I've ever seen and you can bet that I would like to have it in my collection.

Look dude, I already stated that the pic was taken with my crappy cell phone so the color is off from what it looks like in person - and what Ed has added about the color differences is sound.
Why you would come in here to specifically point out differences is a party foul.

Alright, if any objections are undesirable, so I can let it go. No problem. I surely don't want to spoil your party.

I have a pair of the official Nike Mags and hope to soon have the time to set up my photography studio setup and take pics of the jacket and shoes together.

I'm in the stages of making my own jacket, but I'm having difficulties putting the red kitchen mats onto my jacket. It's just simply too hard for me to do.

Can someone make sheets of the bumpy texture of Marty Jr.'s jacket and sell them? If not does someone know how to make the material?

Here was my attempt at getting the litted switch and sound effects in to my ebay bought jacket that I am planing on upgrading, if anyone has any better suggestions for the wiring or the speaker module I'd love to hear them.

Just read this entire thread. Amazing work! Just thought I would mention that the liner material reminds me of the cape they put around you when getting your hair cut. I'm sure I've seen some with rainbow colors before. If you could find it, maybe these would be a tad easier to build...

I was doing an image search for something else BTTF 2 related, and just stumbled upon this picture from Comikaze 2011:

Apparently this is from November 2011, and boy that sure looks like one of Ed's jackets. Could this be jacket # 1 being worn by "DJDaveyDave?"

You can see this person is wearing the official Mags too, lucky guy. But that's besides the point. Well, if I'm correct, it's really neat to see one of Ed's jackets in the wild!

Sadly one of the wires for one of the speakers detached so I have to solder that back on.

All the parts on the screen used jackets 1,2,3,4 were all made from the exact mix of rubber according to the man who made it. Every jacket has aged differently according to how it has been stored, displayed, etc. The worst condition jacket ive seen is the one that universal has in their archives also the one Nike displayed for the air mag launch. It has actually yellowed quite a bit. I'm not trying to fool anyone into thinking my jackets are the real thing. I've held the real jackets in my own hands. I am going to sound very foolish asking this question but i am new to prop/ replica building. How is the mottled rubber effects created? Did you find a material with the same effect or is it created in a different way?

Actually no has a 100% accurate jacket. The rubber for the sleeves has a texture on it that no one really knows how to do.

Actually... Doc's jacket has the texture. He's held the original and matched the texture.

I found this hobby thing on youtube today called "Deco-den"
They use kitchen silicon caulk that they color with acrylic paint
