Well, the reaction I got at Dragon*Con was amazing. I was even stopped by Sylvester McCoy (7th doctor) for a picture.

I also entered the masquerade on Sunday night and took home an award for best historical recreation. This is probably the suit I am the most proud of in all my years of building.

Congrats. Another Apollo buff here, and I very much respect the attention to detail.

Now, if we could just get them to evacuate the Con, you'd be able to hook up a proper porous-plate and use that lovely LCG you built...

I saw you in the suit in the Hilton lobby and was blown away. When I saw your presentation in the masquerade, I cried. Excellent work!

Dude - you are amazing! I saw this at DragonCon and was SO impressed! And was even moreso when I saw your Masquerade skit. Our whole room (watching the rerun on DC*TV) burst into applause. We didn't hear the results so I was really glad to learn that you won something for it. Also, seeing your thread about how you made it, I'm even more impressed. Great job!

I saw you out at Dragoncon and it looked amazing. I initially assumed you were Neil Armstrong when I saw the flag - what made you choose Lovell?

I was going to have this long rant prepared for when someone finally asked this question, but for now I'll say Jim Lovell was my hero growing up. He was a veteran of 3 spaceflights before Apollo 13 and kept his cool in a situation that would have freaked any normal person out. He was the first man to fly to the moon twice. I was motivated to earn my Eagle Scout because he is an Eagle Scout too. If anyone deserved to walk on the moon, it was Jim Lovell.
