They really out did the Raimi suit on this one. I bet Fanboys attemting this one are having a helluva time debating this one too. Bullitt, I think you're on the right track with Urethane and the 4-way though. The hexagon print and distress is amazing. As I see no seams or way for entry. This suit and all it's new quirks are definitely settling in....even those silly shoes. It'll fit right in with the decorative Avenger's theme nicely.
The image about the webshooters are a nice touch, seems very homemade and I might try a crack at it later down the road, just because it involves leather.![]()
Superior Quality Previously-Seen Stills From The Amazing Spider-Man Released!
Best pics of the costume so far that provide great detail to who ever is studying the design here.
Can't wait til some costume maker throws a suit together and sells it online.
For those who've been curious about my printed suit project, the fabric arrived! Here's a lil pic to tease your optic nerves :P

So are they going to fix the shoes in post? I think principal photography has wrapped, hasn't it?
I really hope they lose the silver. It'll be a pain to rotoscope it out of every frame in the film but I think it's a cleaner look in the end.
I don't think there will be enough time to fix the toys and such if this is the case. Same thing happened with Peter Jackson's King Kong. THey changed Kong's design at the last second and all the toys and merch looked "off".

So, this is one of the highest resolution images of the suit I have been able to find so far, and I believe that it clearly shows that suit is just made of printed spandex. While it does appear that the design is somewhat 3-d, it is not as intense as we were lead to believe, and is mostly just an illusion.
Warning: Very large picture.
^ Absolutely, but still there's some 3D on top of the print. At least the black "webbing-" pattern seems to be...
I've been extensively researching this costume. I'm hoping to make the reboot suit for a female. Any tips? I would like to have it made before Halloween (wishful thinking), but DEFINITELY before the premiere. Any tips, that haven't already been pointed it previously in this thread, would be greatly appreciated.![]()
I'm guessing the webs as well as the spider logos are latex, similar to the Raimi suit. Which is what gives it the 3-d look. Then the honeycomb pattern is printed. While examining the picture further, there also appears to be a secondary pattern on the blue fabric.
This has probably been mentioned but A. I really like the new suit, but B. I HATE, and have ALWAYS hated Spiderman's need for "cartridges." I prefer the idea that he creates his own web. If you're gonna be a spider,...than be a spider (imo)
Of course, if he was to become the spider he'd be jumping off of buildings and shooting the web out of his arse, so I guess I don't want him to be TOO specific either
I'm just equally sorry that we ALWAYS SEEM to face remakes and reboots RIGHT when we MIGHT see villains that we've never seen before.....and then it starts over,...and we have to face new versions of the same villains. These comics haven't existed for decades on ONLY 3 baddies. I kind of wish they were just continuing it from where Tobey left off.
I don't just mean Spiderman of course, but Batman, Superman, etc.
I LOVE the need for web fluid cartridges, it involved him so many times in problems...
It΄s one of those things that made Peter/Spiderman the way he is, a geek and a little bit of a looser!
First of all, I love your avatar2nd of all, I know,...ironically I like those moments too, they obviously tried to pull it off anyway with Spiderman 2 and his loss of Mary Jane effecting his powers, which is FULL of all kinds of innuendos. I remember reading that even in the Tobey version he was going to have cartridges. At some point I saw a picture of the prop web shooters somewhere, but it was taking up too much story to show him developing them so it was scratched and he could "just do it."
As much as I appreciate the fact that once in a while he CAN'T shoot web,...I also appreciated the cafeteria scene where he was shooting it off accidentally. Good stuff
All of which makes it sound like my point is that I have no point *sigh* lol
Can anyone identify the shirt he is wearing in these pictures? I'm working on this entire outfit and I got his glasses already (really hard to find actually since the color he wears are discontinued), but having trouble with the shirt. Any ideas? Or any better pictures of it?
It's this Einstein shirt.![]()
I thought it was a web pattern shirt until I saw the Einstein poster in his room. lol
You can see the same shirt when he's holding the fly in the trailer. (when Aunt May says "Peter, what's going on?"![]()
And a link to buy it.

Definatly getting that!
Anyone get anywhere on the jacket he's wearing?
change is enevitable comic books don't translate well on th' silver screen with that being said i've loved spidey since i was a kid . I didn't like cheesy spandex heroes in th' 70's an early 80's TV. i'm likin this incarnation of spidey i'll see where it goes when th' movie hits theaters in 2012. th' web shooters look awesome!!!!
