Re: Alternative To Fiberglassing Pepakura Parts That You Can Use Indoors
Im incredibly interested in ordering some of this stuff. There is only one Smooth-On distributor in Australia sadly
Hoping they can get the stuff and it doesnt become an expensive process in shipping.I live in a unit, and have to do all my work at my partners mothers house ^^; So ive intensively been researching safe methods of reinforcing PEP (By researching, i mean digging through many MSDS forms). So far this epoxamite seems to be the absolute safest method. Pretty much everything else ive found is either carcinogenic, harmful by inhalation (internal dermatitis + breathing disorders), possible birth defects etc. so in my books, epoxamite seems pretty damn safe - Especially when compared to other resins. I just wish i could get this stuff locally!!! >< |

Re: Alternative To Fiberglassing Pepakura Parts That You Can Use Indoors
i used this for some kurgan armor, i did the front in fiberglass and the back plate in apoximite, for real the smell is kinda sweet but non over powering, the front plate is still smelly after a week... also its light and easy to use... i didnt buy the pumps i just used a scale but the pumps are good for multi use applications...
side note, i dont use fiberglass fabric, i use kevlar and carbon fiber but it still works like a charm... |
