Hey, everyone. I am brand new here.
I am putting together a Parker outfit and am just wondering if you guys see Parker's aviator jacket as black and beat-up, or Brown and beat up with enough stains to make it look black. The yellow lettering on the back is screwing with my eyes.
Also, can anyone confirm that all Parker has on the jacket are a set of blue WY wings, 2 dark Nostromo patches and the stenciling on the back?

Cool, thank you. I have been looking around for a cheap, used A2 flight jacket, now I feel confident in getting a brown one.
hi, all! wish i joined this community years ago!
this thread is stupendous, and so helpful! trying to come up with a general Nostromo crew costume for this year's Halloween. worried about not getting everything done in time!
does SG-RB (Randy, from San Diego) no longer post around these parts? is he still available and selling his goods? i'll try to see if i can message him.
i hope i can come up with something neat to share on here. but i know i'll never get it as great as you talented veterans! thanks for your inspirations!
Some great stuff going on here and great attention to details. As a newbie it's really inspiring seeing what's going on here!
I hit the jackpot... or so I thought. I won a great looking, broken-in brown A2 leather flight jacket on eBay for $25.
Now, the listing said it had a smell like cigarette smoke that would have to be aired-out. I got it yesterday, and it would have been more accurate had it said that it smells like it had been in a house fire. It absolutely reeks of smoke. It stunk-up my office for 20 minutes just taking it out of the box briefly to try it on.
So does anyone have a tip for getting the smell of apocalyptic hellfire out of a leather garment? One that doesn't involve me sending it out to a cleaner for 3 weeks and $60 to have it professionally treated?
Also, I will need to put 'Nostromo' on the back of this thing, and I don't know the best way to do it on leather. I know a guy with a silk-screening shop, but would silk-screening even work on leather? Does anyone have a stencil I can use or know of a maker who can do something that will work on this jacket?
Maybe you could use yellow paint and stencil? I think that's what I'd do.
Do a Google search for custom leather painting or painting bomber jackets.
IIRC they use acrylic paint.
Well, I managed to get the smoke smell mostly out of the jacket, but in the process the damn thing shrunk 2 sizes and now it doesn't fit.
This is my Kane's set so far. The pants, the belt, the jacket and the haircut are still in production.
Makes me think of this-
I do my best.
I'm posting a cropped promo pic which shows Kane's boots. Maybe this will help in finding the right model. Too bad we still don't know what boots are these.
Rectification : They're not altered, there's even some currently for sale on french eBay (from an army surplus) :
eBay | Chaussures de brousse en toile A.franšaise neuf ou PATAUGAS "Wissart ou Paladuim
It looks like they even have the WISSART label on the inside ankle, like these :
I think this label is spottable in the screencaps posted above... but it's not present on all Pataugas boots, be careful if you want to be screen-accurate when you buy a pair !
I'm not even sure the Pataugas worn by Kane are black, I think they kept them kaki like the ones currently sold on eBay...
Thoughts anyone ?
