Abigail Whistler, Blade Trinity

Hey, y'all! I'm Jenn and if you can tell this is my first post here. Talk about being nervous doing so! Over the past couple of years I've been researching the costumes work in the movie Blade: Trinity for the Abigail Whistler costume.

Right now I'm trying to tweak my first one, hopefully I'll post others here once I get to them, but I kinda need some advice or a little help with my first one. Here's version 1 from D*Con 2010



Yes- I will be lining the sleeves with black as the first major rework of the jacket.

There are a few things I am having issues with and the big thing is the collar. While the back stands well, the little flap at the front is wanting to twist forward and it looks just awful weird. I've tried doubling the material and even putting a layer of fabric in there to keep it able to move when i get the snap in, but it still wants to flop.


Another thing I am wanting to tweak is the back of the jacket. So far I've not been able to get any good screen caps of what the back fully looks like, but I know it looks close to the front when it comes to the red panels but I'm not sure how totally wide the part about the shoulder blades is.

From what I can tell there is a similar strip of leather sort of hiding where the red panels are actually attached to the jacket. My main problem is, I guess, is if the red strip is not wide enough to do this and make the additional leather strip look to out of place.

Any suggestions or advice anyone has is totally welcome. I'm wanting to get this as spot on as I can for Con again this year before I try any of her other costumes. Still have to make a true arm guard... Don't think the black vet wrap is gonna cut it again this year

There is, I think, a member on this forum who owns the REAL screen used costume. I can't speak for him but I would imagine that they might be willing to put you in the right direction. I hope.

I used to have a ton of Abby screen caps somewhere along w/ all my Hannibal King stuff. I'll see if I can track them down but those screen used caps are about the best you're gonna get at shots of the jacket.

And oooooh oh wow. That page- where was this at when I was trying to make the jacket the first go around! Just looking at the pics of the back of the jacket means I will be completely reworking it. Maybe- duct take and gorilla glue work on pleather right?

The one thing I refuse to do is take those darn sleeves apart again. Got to admit the old saying of blood, sweat, and tears literally worked for a week trying to attach them and get the zipper right. Good thing is I got enough left over material that I should hopefully be able to swing this without cutting to much away. At least I hope so.

Any caps or advise I'll take and are most certainly welcome! Only way I can get this as close as I can is by asking the best and this place is the best.

Will post pics as I upgrade/tweak/try not to go insane!




And the Vols haven't had a good season since Manning left.
