    I recently purchased the tripod kit and its quite amazing but does anyone have suggestions on connecting the legs? Seems like glue alone may not be enough. Are some kind of rods my answer? Does anyone have any photos of actual constuction.

    speaking of tripods since it doesn't come up much,

    anyone heard about a Jeff Wayne style version lately?

    There was one on display at Comicon last year and I never heard anything more about it.

    I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm working on one as we speak. It's a hybrid between the album cover art, and the Jeff Wayne movie version. Basically, just the feet and shins of the movie version are being added. Same sort of thing that was seen at ComicCon. My version is about 2 ft tall. PM me if you would like some info.

    Sorry for the mini-hijack ther mik. In answer to your question, why not drop Randy an email? He was very helpful when it came to my Star Destroyer build.

    Apparently, Darkhorse statue that was at Comicon was scrapped and replaced with this version, which is available for pre-order.

    It's a CD holder. And crap.

    let me re-phrase that; it's not a replica/model etc - more like a child's piggy-bank type thing.

    Depending on final product quaility, might be ok, or repainting and reworking it is in order.

    Sorry again to be hijacking the thread.

    It's supposed to look a lot better now, the photos on the site are almost 2 years old!

    I wouldn't say it was like a childs toy, it's more like an ornament and it seems pretty accurate to the new style tripods.

    It's officially licenced and comes signed by Jeff Wayne too!

    Might order one myself!

    I'd love to see photos of this new 'awesomeness' - when the prototype first came out it looked like something the dog had just sicked-up...

    I must admit, the original version was a joke, but after seeing these new pics, i'm seeing it in a new light.

    Not allowed to post photos of it, but if you register for free, they send you the new photos.

    The basic sculpt looks the same, if not slightly cleaner, but this new version has better eyes, which do a lot to imprive the look. The Positioning is also better, it seems to have a slightly more dynamic looking stance and best of all, it has a blast of heat, coming from the ray, which is destroying the building at it's feet!

    Awesome!
