Stargate Universe Destiny Potential 3d printed model

that is an awsome build i must have one some day!

I am preparing also the 30cm Destiny KIT

(and 21cm Aurora ship KIT and here are Atlantis tower and Destiny shuttle kits)

I hope it will, the Seed Ship is a big part of the story, too bad we did not learn more in a 3rd Season! I am still holding out hope for a movie, and there's a guy who wrote a book urging Netflix to save SGU...

I noticed you have four different Destiny models on your site, are they all available already painted and with the glowing engines, including the bronze one? Also, do these all come fully assembled?

In any event, I noticed a photo showing Destiny is capable of stowing three shuttles, but from most shots of Destiny this is not obvious -- I thought only two, but here it is below. Do any of the models dock the shuttles?

yes, Destiny have 3 shuttle pads:


All the models come fully assembled (except the KITs but you can see in product name and description if its a KIT). Except the big Destiny only the 12cm Destiny miniature has a shuttle:

Good news,

the Seed Ship is realy coming And I can make it dockable (probably by magnets)

here is the Seed ship (unpainted). Iam planing to make it dockable. There will be also some additional details made and applied to it.

I have a printer capable of doing this. but t0 get a 24" destiny and for maximum accuracy it would be best to slice it in 3-6 parts. I am thinking front, middle, rear. Then go down the middle of the rear piece and slice the rear "wings" off on each piece somewhere that makes sense Then just add mounting tabs and holes opposite of tabs to help align an hold it together while gluing. Then tale a rag with acetone on it and put rub the seams. that and ad a little paint /weathering to finish the job. I even hunted down a bronze color filament just for SGU models. So you could just give a good weathering wash and it would be done......no need to pain the whole model.

I've seen 3d renderings on the web that were pretty good, just not colored (Which doesnt matter to us) so if we can get that in a file I can put into Solidworks or 123D Design I cpu;d d[ the rest the work. Either that or a scan of a full size model. HARO makes a decent scanner for 400 (IT actually looks like the SGA Replicators weapons from Season 3 episode 6 I believe)

So maybe if we all try searching google images for that 3D destiny and emailing the guy....

I am guessing you have a laser CNC? If so would you mine telling me which one, and what the laser specs are? (Even if its not laser Id like to know)

Atlantis Is definatley something I would buy (providing you make a smakker version, to scale with the destiny would be perfect I would think.

Sorry are you asking me or someone else? I dont have CNC, those ships were 3D printed on powder printer in Shapweays.

Actually I will have very soon also available KITs 1:2500 including photo etched details for sell.

Hi mate... I know it's been a long time since this post was put up but I was wondering if you managed to finish this project? I can't find a good version of stl files for the destiny that I can print myself !
