That's really incredible. So much detail on the engines. How do you handle it without breaking the fine wires and greebles? It seems so delicate.

You're not from this planet are you?
Thanks for the positive feedback, it really is very encouraging.
So whats been happening, well, Thursday evening i dislocated my shoulder (again, thats 3 times) swatting a fly, so have done a limited amount of work on the MK1 this weekend. But the good news is i am going to have surgery on the 4th of October, that should sort me out a bit. I've already had it done on the left in 2001.
But enough of me grizzlin 'n' moanin, on with the show, PIX
First, let me show you a few pictures of the 95% completed fairings from the video.
This is the outside edge, the picture was taken outside in natural light
This is with the fairings attached to the main body and with the engines and front intakes in position
And the front intake
This is my favourite shot from underneath, this little beast looks like its got a wee bit of power behind it.
And from the front
I then concentrated on the front underside navigation and communications array, this will be under the cockpit in the front
Made this little do-dad but it didn't fit somehow, so i decided it would be useful later on as the laser load guide sensor for the back end of the ship.
Started the navi/com array with my usual tub and a piece from the Federation STAP model
Added wires and other details, trying to make it look feesable and interesting
I love this front radar dish, its made from an eye washer cup with half a toy Darth Maul light saber as the receiver inside
Then a layer of dark grey primer and a top coat of flat aluminium and the two external side pieces that will
(hopefull) intergrate easily into the existing bodywork
And finally with two supports for additional antennas 'n' stuff
And thats where i'm at now, trying to figure out the location of a few more antenna pylons,
cuz you can never have enough antenna's
Thanks for stopping by, as all ways comments welcome

YES YES YES this is the kind of work I LOVE to see. Original, well-designed, with an eye for what looks like "real" hardware. Outstanding work!!
Im a Star Wars fans,I dont know this ship but.........wow!! love the details,outstanding![]()
Great density of the details and outstanding design. This is what I call A scratch build!!
This is bloody amazing. Are you going by a drawn up plan or just making it up as you go?
What is this ship from and where can I see it in action?
{Edit}
I read your opening remarks on this build and I found out that it is your own design and that you are the sole designer to this build. Perhaps you should when finished get it to a effects and do a short motion picture done.
Allo,
Some very positive quotes from some very talented modellers, it means alot, Thanks you friends.
SO, Onward friends, Onwards?
PIX
I took a Kevlar/Carbon fibre silencer from a 500cc Grand Prix bike, and turned it into an antenna.
And mounted it on the antenna mounts, would make sense, rightAdded a Single bristle from a floor brush to make the transmitting filament (blue bit).
Added small assembly to hold additional Antenna points with Short and Long range Filaments.
Made this GPS module (Galaxy Positioning System), then fitted it, then made another.
Fitted a Stabilization Beam and Tail Alignment Fixture.
Made and fitted a Rear Piston Assembly
Turned a deoderant cap, some styrene shapes and a few other bits and bobs into a Micro/Expansive Long Range Sonar Array.
Included a few bike suspention parts in the mix and........Bingo.
Mounted together with main Navi/Com module.
Primer,Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Primer.
Assembled,.
Thats as far as i have gotten right now, was to impatient i managed to put some fantastic finger prints on one of the assemblies?
But, anyhoo. Some people have said that it looks so functional, so i think ifinally figured how scratch building works for me, if i can give an assembly a 'Name', it gives me a direction to pursue as far as composition is concerned. Example , Rear Piston Assembly to me would indicate some aparatus that is mobile, adjustable and moveable. To me this is a cylinder, like a shock absorber with some kind of valve assembly, so i have a basic point to start from.
Sorry to waffle, but that is how i design all my assemblies i make for the MK.1, "Does it look like it would work?" That is the bottom line .

Man, those dizzyingly amazing details!
You must have drunk up a six pack of Red Bull before you build
Cool and realistic!!
Wow. Amazing detail. All you need to do now is add that hideous stepped nose all the F1 cars are sporting this year.![]()
The radar is a work of art in itself!
Gob-smackingly epic. Loving following this build and being uber-jealous of your ninja scratch build skills!
I'd comment on this...but frankly, I'm not worthy!![]()
The complex details are so beautiful and believable.

Haven't been posting much lately as my PC crapped out with a virus but it's fixed now so let the journey continue....................and................... ............there OFF.
PIX
Got a layer of crome silver on the rest of the nav/com sub assembly

Then started the details that will go under the cockpit, i used such things as a bicycle pump holder, card board tubes, drinking straws, various styrene pieces, some fine plastic mesh, a few bike greeblies, a whisky pore spout and my favourite is the worcestershire sauce pore spout and cap antenna i created.

Gave it a shot of primer

Then black in the front and crome silver on the back section

Black pastel wash and brown pastel wash then a drybrush with crome silver

And finally a dry fit with the cockpit bubble in position.

I have since reduced the size of the detail so it sits further back.
Then i started skinning the underside of the wings, very time consuming and a bit uninteresting without primer but heres one or two quick shots

Thats about all for tonight. Will be concentrating on the back of the wings next
Thanks for stopping by.
