Robby the Robot...I'm confused

I tried reading through as much as possible and I'm confused as to if anything had been established.

Is it ok to discuss or have a how-to-build Robby or Robby Builders Club?

According to the C&D, the answer is no. You cannot use the Name, "Robby, Robby the Robot, Robby Builders, etc"(I'm not even sure you could name your kid "Robby":lol).

I have a good friend named Rob, and i used to call him Robby, sadly we have had to change that as if i was to utter the name again, i would have to live in fear, looking over my shoulder fearing the whispered sound of a silenced atuomatic pistol!

Everyone who was interested in building said "robot" should put in their signature line "Ex-member of the now defunct Robby the Robot Builders Club"

Ah, the hell with fear, bullets can miss huh?

This all comes at a time im due to release my own studio scale Robby as a kit....its all patterned up, just need lots of rubber and resin :lol

Should be due out in a week or so :lol!

If you are trying to build a Robby for your own personal use, or in the sharing of information to help your friends build a better Robby for their own use, you have absolutely nothing to fear. This guy is a crackpot. There is no lawyer in the world that would take on the case. By paying a lawyer to draft the C&D , the owner of the rights to Robby was actually being taken advantage of by the lawyer. He deserves to be taken advantage of for his own infantile mentality and desire to control what you do for your own personal pleasure. Robby is a cultural icon. This guy is doing what copyright law calls trying to prove that he has a legitimate claim by protecting his rights to the property. He's completely misinterpreted what it means.
 
I'm no lawyer, but that makes alot of sense to me. I respect FB's license, but it sounds as though he's trying to take it way beyond his legal limit.

I'm thinking Bobert the Robot would be a cool name. Come to think of it, why isn't anyone that is named Robert, using the nickname Bobert?? They use Rob, they use Bob,...they use Robby, they use Bobby,....so why no Bobert??

Sorry, I'm on a diet,...lack of sugar is effecting my brain in ways I didn't think possible.
