Review: USS Horizon seen in Sisko's Office
For most of the 7 years it sat in a corner: a small desk model of the USS Horizon mounted on stained wood w/ a (then current Comm-Badge) on the base. Built by Greg Jien for the show (or for something else but it wound up in Sisko's office eitherway); kit by Steven Nieson; build by Stephen Dymszo.
![]() Shiny, solid metal Comm-Badge just pinned to the wood. ![]() Revell styrene SRBs used for more accuracy. ![]() Painted LED used instead of Greg's blob of glue. ![]() Most windows made into proper rectangles. U.S.S. Horizon off-center as on Sisko's model; Rub-down Letraset letters used to attach ships name in proper scale. ![]() Clear acrylic rod used to support ship, as on original. ![]() ![]() Steve D. did another fantastic, more than you could ask for, more than you expect, buildup of this Star Trek: Deep Space Nine prop. It was a great show, and this prop makes the show a little bit more 'real' to me than just your standard Cardy doorbell or Breen/ Bajoran/ Federation/ Jem Ha'dar phaser or tricorder. THanks to both Steve's; and of course Matt for inspiring Greg in the 1st place
