May 26, 2012 - Resin or Acrylic Experts WANTED #1

    Hi Gang,

As many of you know I am building a replica of the Millennium Falcon cockpit center console. There are various bits and pieces that the production tems used throughout the Star Wars universe that just done seem to be available anymore.

I was wandering through Home Depot when I stumbled across this:

At 2 bucks a piece... with the rubber removed, this could easily become the dreaded and mysterious panel light many of us have been looking for!!!

I was wondering if there were any resin / acrylic gurus out there who think that fabricating a clear or colored plastic dome/convex lens of the same design as the original could work using the simple door stop housing?

If there is anybody out there who can help me or at least point me the right direction I would really appreciate it!

Thanks and be sure to have a great weekend!

    Sorry about that...

These panel light/lenses were used extensively throughout the Star Wars universe (Falcon, Death Star, YWing, etc). They were everywhere. Now... no one can locate them at all let alone who actually made them. They are still a mystery. They are approx 2 inches in diam and have a chrome bezel.

    On Death Star

    On Falcon

    Real Lens

    Hope these help
