I was intrigued by the conversions that I saw and decided to take and old kit and do the same.
Now I am stuck with the cockpit design 20130930_172613.jpg

I would like to make a mold of the plug so that I can detail the interior..20130930_172538.jpg this one has a good interior but not happy with the exterior
Can anyone help describe the molding process that I can use

thanks

Anthony

finished making the top and lower cannons... McQuarrie's cannon designers were bigger and longer

Looking great so far Atesta, I enjoyed making mine, and I'd do it over again if I had the time.

Looking forward to your updates

Finalizing what the cannon turrets will look like as well as the well interiors. I have also decided that I want some mechanical gearing mechanism alone with the covers covers up top near the cannons.

I have gone with the windows from one of Mcquarries original sketches for the top and bottom turrets.
Next I will be working on the engine louvers.

Looking sweeeeeet Atesta,
Have you looked at the CG render that SteveStarkiller has done of the ship......beautiful!
Stinson's All Things Star Wars Blog

Y'know after seeing this and seeing the compromises I had to make, I think I will have another go at her, probably from scratch

Hi Jaitea , I did see that site, but not all of those images . Thanks for the link. There isn't much info out there on Mcquarrie's design. The ship is always drawn a little different. Making the cockpit cone precises is still giving me the must trouble. If you have any ideas please pass them on.

thanks

Here is the cockpit , couldn't have done it without Colin's help
Thanks Colin! AKA Gattaca20131020_093503.jpg20131020_093711.jpg20131020_093517.jpg
I did a quick mold for the end cap, not sure how its going to look.20131020_094646.jpg
Everything came out a bit bigger than my drawings , about 105 % bigger , don't think it will look bad once assembled on the main body . We'll see.

Thanks Kyuzo, I'm doing the best I can..

I need to make the fixture to hold the model in a flying configuration. Not sure just how to do it yet. Looking for some suggestions.

Thanks
A.

more updates cleaned up the cockpit , made the window sills narrower so now we can see inside ....20131028_210726.jpg20131028_210846.jpg20131028_210828.jpg20131028_211009.jpg20131028_211102.jpg Also tyest fitting the mandibles . Mocking up the engines . I think I will arrange them in 2 banks .

Hey Gattaca, I was lucky that I had a bunch of pieces in my scrap bin .... They came from a old flying sub model. I don't what scale it was, but they worked.
