Re: Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise Refit

OMG! I thought I mis-read..... I'll need at least four.
One for a pristine refit,
one for the end of ST II, beginning of III
One for the Self-Destruct version and
one for the 1701-A

any info on WHEN these come out?

Re: Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise Refit

Still by far the best-looking Enterprise design.

Everything else since then has been downhill!

(Reliant excepted...)

Re: Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise Refit

I'm surprised nobody's shown up wanting them to do a new run of the the older, bigger PL 1/350(?) scale TMP-era Enterprise. That would be a pain to build, yes, but much easier to paint and accuratize.

I've seen one of those boxes opened -- the saucer is HUGE for a store-bought model!

I still stand by my opinion that this is by far the best-designed Enterprise.

Nobody has any love for Galaxy-class starships...

I love the Constitution refit, but it's not exactly perfect. The funky pylons, bulbous bridge, the inset grills on the sides of the nacelles, etc..

That said, I'm still getting one of these!

Actually while I consider the Constitution Refit the best of the best (and would love a lit 1/350 some day) I really liked the Galaxy class, much more than the Sovereign actually.

I'm looking forward to seeing what other models they come out with and dearly hoping for a 1/350 Reliant (even though it'll take me years to ever get a 1/350 Enterprise built! ).

Egads, the Sovereign is a mess. It's like an EXTREME cross between a Constitution refit and an Intrepid-class.

I wouldn't hate it too much, but it's the damn flagship of the fleet. It looks like it was designed as an enemy vessel for a video game, not a majestic symbol of exploration.

Re: Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise Refit

I don't know what it is, I'm just not a Galay Class starship fan. Even the guys at ILM in the model shop didn't like the lines to it(that's what I've been told). Then again, they hated the Enterprise re-fit too.Not sure if it was the lines so much,it was more along the lines that it was a pain in the ass to rig up and wire for a shot until they mproved the internal wiring/hookups for the last film it was in.
