I have been waiting to see this but am now disappointed.
They left off the whole back of the house. what, you walk
up that huge staircase inside and fall out the back window?

I know they based it off the studio lot but that model is
so unrealistic in size. To thin in profile. Hardly a mansion.
I'll keep the one I built. Maybe I will pick up thiers and scratch
    build the rest of it.

Nice attempt but it really falls short.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about the layout with regards to the staircase. It's just another example of the interior sets being a mismatch to the exterior facade.

I never got the impression it was supposed to be a mansion; merely a gothic-styled two-story suburban family home. After all, the Munsters weren't particularly wealthy.

It was a mansion. In one of the episodes, Eddie had to give a report and
he mentiones living in an old Mansion on Mockingbird lane.

The studio backlot house was only a front and side walls. There was no
back ever constructed. Looks like this is what was modeled here with
the exception of them actually adding windows to the back of it.

Also, the real houses round shaped roof did not go back that far. It
was only the front portion of the house. The back half was shaped much
like how that side extentions looks. I reseached the living **** out of this
house last year. I have a thread here somewhere on my build.

This is a HO scale model, similar to the Bates mansion/ Psycho house.

I vaguely recall that episode, but don't remember the dialogue; I was always much more of an Addams Family fan. And I remember your thread and your Munster mansion build-up, so I defer to your knowledge and research.

    Very true!

Hey, do you have any pictures of the left side (Side with the rounded roof)? I'm interested to see how they did that side.

    sure thing,
    here's the left hand side.

BTW, I think you might be surprised about the various aftermarket add-on ideas I've heard bandied about. I think they'd address your concern about the back of the house as well as the landscaping

    Thanks for posting that.

I am really surprised they did give the house any other doors other
    than the front one. LOL.

They missed the big arched window over the top of the main doors too.
Lots of the other details are there and I am sure this can be scratch built
and or added on to become a really nice kit.

Any idea on when the kit will be released to the public? (or has it already)?

I pre-ordered The Munsters House from Monsters in Motion some time late last year. The house is supposed to be in HO scale like The Bates house from Psycho. Is this the same kit? Looks great!

Here is a few pictures of the house as it appeared before and during
    the munsters.

Porch off of the angled extention of the house.

Side of the house, just behind the left side of the house with garage.

Sadly, as the house looks today! The magic is gone.

Here is an interesting page on the houses history.
