I picked that color (which is a light chrysler blue) cause most of the photos i've seen have so many different engine colors, the average was that reat blue from the 60-70s. the spark plug wire are by detail master, and i cut and ran them one at a time, then wraped them, then glued them to the distributer, the painted the tips copper. And the decal, I cut it a little each time it wrinkled, and eventually it lay flat. The kit was so detailed, I was forced to buy another(9 bucks at walmart) to build my FNF Charger. The detail was so present, the a spacer bar is under the back seat, and the raditator has four parts. i was completly sold on when i saw the decals for the battery and oil filter.

Fantastic work on the Enterprise NCC-1701-D! I love it! I tried doing something like that and got custom decals for it and I ended up screwing the model up completely with a glue spill! D'oh!

Actually that model had a nasty acetone accident on the engineering section after I'd painted the base coat.Lots of careful sanding and scraping was needed to get that back to looking halfway decent. |

Hey there guys.... Saw this thread and thought I'd join in.
Got ALOT of pics of stuff I've been doing recently... Mostly BSG stuff...but I do have other subjects. Here are the first pics. The first three are of a Viper I did for the "Online Build" for Starship Modeler. This was before I made masters for the more accurate Burner Can Set. The second few pics are of the next Viper I did that includes the more accurate Burner Can Set. Will be posting more in the next few days Gil |

This next one is one I am still working on the Two Seater Cockpit Set.
I'm finalizing the patterns so I can offer it as a conversion kit for the original Revell/Monogram kit. |

Nice stuff Carson...( Carson Dyle..??? isn't that a character name from an old Cary Grant movie???)
One question... where are the cockpit windows on the Royal Starship? Here's another one of mine.... The Scarlet Viper / Advanced Viper This was the first one I built...before I made the masters for my Cockpit Set...soooo there is no cockpit on this model.

Now... the BSG bad guy.
This is the Monogram Raider. Accurized and detailed to the Studio Scale models specs. All I still need to do is the markings, and weathering. |

The photo above was taken before the windows were applied. I used the same sort of glossy black pinstriping adhesive found on the FX miniature. Speaking of the Royal Naboo Starship, I eagerly await REL's version of this ship. Love your Galactica stuff btw. Beautiful work. Last edited by Carson Dyle; 04-18-2007 at 09:39 PM. |
