I hope that is a ton of barrel distortion on those last pics. It makes the whole thing look way off.

Yeah I noticed that in the pic, Not Symmetrical, My parts measure all accurate and symmetrical on the top and bottom and it looks in that pic like the top pod might not be actually glued down or possibly the pic i distorted, But the parts I have here, all accurate and alignment is perfect..
Love what I see so far! Have to say the prospect of a large scale Nostromo has me drooling!
This is the first casting in a long time for these molds, So far everything is great, I would love to keep this one, but will need to part with it so I can get more materials and make More , even better....you know...the bonus situation...
Tomorrow we pour the main hull, I have a new 2-gallon shipment of resin just in...
Some lucky soul will end up with this one, a special first casting arrangement . And they can say they saw the actual construction right here...

At a price under $500, color me VERY interested! In fact, put me down for one. (I know this isn't the Junkyard, but I can't post there for another 2 1/4 months!)![]()
I know what you mean, I just joined here, so I cant sell anything here either for awhile :-(
Pouring more parts today the smaller ones are a lot more time consuming...
but the big ones, thats a different story... Here is the front of the port engine
Outstanding work!!!. you can put me down for one as well.
at under $500, I'll definitely go from interested to Hell, ya, I want one!! Port engine looks great!

So tonight I did not pour the Hull yet, BUT.....!!!!!!!!!
I did the rest of the main engines in ROTOCAST..By Hand! YIKES!
But it was well worth it. I have the main engine body Molds in a small particle-board box, to keep it all straight, Next I measured poured the resin in the mold, and started to hand rotocast..for 10 minutes... I kept doing it until the mold felt hot, no more sloshing in there, and BAMMM!! perfect engine pods.... 10 minutes of hand rotocasting sucks, but WOW it actually works. Perfect hollow parts with nice even wall thickness and detail.
Here is a pic of part of the engine assembly kinda sitting together for looks on my kitchen stove where I could get light for the camera...

This is looking pretty darn tasty, but my budget will not allow.
I'm a sad panda...![]()
I'm drooling... and I think I just wet myself a little...![]()
Yes, definitely AWESOME!!! Can't wait to this is ready to sell.
And here's the docking platform top half, right out of the mold, complete with a little flash still on the part........

Tonight got the main hull mold in its mother-mold, and almost ready to get the first prototype away!!! also re-cast a few small parts for better quality..
Work slower, I need to save up some money!
Harry
Great news , Keep up the great work!!![]()
This sounds great...but yeah I need to save up some money too!
If there was an estimated price for this I missed it. I have to admit this is not my favorite ship but the kit looks amazing and I may have to break down if its somewhat reasonable.
Jedi Dade
There isn't Dade, I was just joking because at the moment I don't have *any* money! (It's tax time here in the UK - shudder!).

Here is the Nostromo with her new hull, and some parts kinda sitting together.
The hull is from a hi-quality silicon mold, the only glitch was a slight bit of moisture in the bottom causing slight raised spots that can be skinned off with a razorblade, but WOW..for a first cast in years and years...this turned out great.
The Hull was hand roto-casted, with over 40 ounces of Polyurethane resin, it is extremely solid, workable, and heavy, like a brick with a hollow core. The next hull will be done with less, because so much is not needed I think.

Wow! Wish I had the money for that! It's the only AEF item I don't have.
I got lucky a few months back and got a TON of Egg chamber parts- and what I THINK are the masters for the kit.
