    Feb 7, 2009 - New Martian war machine model (1953 version) #1

There is a pre-built and kit available.

Not sure if they all are metal chromed like the pictures though.

The stand is an old stand used for the old Flying Saucer model.

I'd like to see a stand with three clear rods acting as the invisable legs like in the film.

According to the Pegusas Hobbies website, the built model is plated. It's 11in wide.
    I'm definitely gettin' this one!

The price is reasonable for the finished kit. I love the "War Machines Attack!" kit too!

I emailed VoodooFX and they have a light kit coming soon....

"We already have the prototype developed and tested, I just got the model on Monday and started working on the build and fit today, It will be a few week before its ready for market, need to wright up instructions and photo & video the finished model kit. The lighting effect will have an animated led for the heat ray effect along with the wing tips and landing ray area lit up. Will be posting info on the project soon."

I am going to try and make a light and sound kit for this. I can do the fading pulsating effects no problem, and will synchronize the firing sounds to the eye.

This thing has lost nothing over time.

It still just screams alien strangeness and pure unstoppable power.

Hollywood has yet to top it in many ways.

The best way to display this is going to be under big glass dome to replicate the shields. Have to be pretty big though.

Obviously the best display for this model would be inside a bell jar, supported on three plexi rods.

Sure! Everyone understands that when you wave the white flag, you want to be friends!

The ships in the diorama are smaller though, right? Something like 8" vs 11" for the big model.

The base of the dio is like 8" so they are pretty little guys.

The big model is 11" wingspan.

Hmm... the smaller ones are bronzed in color... why couldn't the large one be bronzed as well, instead of just silver?

    One of the best scenes!

Love the bell jar idea too, that would look just right (and I think I have one the right size somewhere too! ).
