Yeah this is looking Great! I'd like to see it finished. You might wanna head over to Jordu Schell's site. He has put images up of his maquettes he did for Avatar.

Re: My (Cameron's) Avatar sculpture WIP

You are right. After seeing the movie they are very slim, almost strechted but very fit. I will have to trim down the shoulder area and maybe slim the legs. I'll be working more on this over the Christmas break and will post updated pics then, thanks.

Re: My (Cameron's) Avatar sculpture WIP

updates coming soon. I sculpted the other arm and tail. Will work on the hand and feet detail next. Trying to decide weather to sculpt her costume and accesories as part of the sculpt, or add them later.

Pic update. Refined the body , arms, and legs. Fingers toes, and clothes are next. Broke the tail while sanding, have to fix that.

Looks nice and smooth. Now you gotta do the muscle toning. Good luck.

Re: My (Cameron's) Avatar sculpture WIP

Just noticed. Right leg needs to be slimmer to match the left leg, but that's easily done when doing the toning.

Making progress. I sculpted the toes and fingers. I totally redid the right arm. I didn't like the way it was bent behind her. Got it more on a straight back pose, elow bent and knife in hand. More pics coming soon.

More pic update. My wife pointed out to me that she only has four toes. Crap. So I need to look through my reference to se if it's true.

Looking great!

Yeah, all the Na'vi have four toes and fingers. The human "avatar Na'vi" have five toes and fingers.

The avatars also have smaller, almond-shaped eyes and eyebrows. Na'vi eyes are large and round, and no eyebrows.

Seeing how you're detailing body bit by bit, I guess you decided to add the details later.
If you still trying to figure out what to do, I'd go that path, make the body "clean" then add all the "decoration" costume and accesories!

Exceptional work so far, looks so good. I would love to have this statue in my collection!

Can't wait to see it finished.
