Your K't'inga is turning out really great Stevet! Also, I like your idea for using Lou's vinyl masks to make the panel lines on your Clipper build.

I'm a novice so tell me if there's a reason for not doing this but to get the tape to stick I would have tried spraying it with a clear coat then taped & primed. Think that might have worked?

Heck it might have. But who knows this clear stuff was weird. I could get primer to stick very well. I steel wooled it and it seemed to help. But it the paint isn't two days dry it just falls off.

Fantastic work Steve, you inspire me to get a new kit and build one with lights. Of course I would have to get back and finish the three or four other projects that have been sitting on my bench for a while.....is twelve years too long to finish painting a Battlestar Galactica kit????

Thanks guys. after some pictures today she will get sandwiched into foam and put in a box. But I recommend she then goes into a wooden crate! I'll put you in touch with my shipper friend Steve and Juan Bryan.

Guys if you can take a look at this. I'm hitting so hard times and need help:

Speechless. Thank you so much for going above and beyond on this project and doing so much extra to make it perfect. I will truly cherish this. Feel free to put the plaque on a place of your choosing before shipping it if you are so inclined. Will post pics of her when she arrives at her new home.

Thanks rob and Bryan. Bryan I'll pack her up in the morning and then I'll hook you up with my shipping friend. They take care of all the shipping get you the best deal and you pay them directly. A wooden crate might be a good idea. It has been constant insurance of a non crushed model.

Bloody hell, Steve! The colours look so much more real in these pictures than they did on the video. Love it.

Just to put a cherry on top of this sundae of awesome, I was contacted today by Steve's shipper and got all the details ironed out. Steve not only provides amazing builds but he goes above and beyond to hook a customer up with a shipper who knows what they are doing to get your model to you in one piece. Bravo, Steve!

    Awesome paintjob.

I've had the ST:VI version of this ship for decades, sitting in a closet. After watching your videos, you made me aware of something that I'd done to the nacelles in error when putting this thing together. I always thought the struts were warped, keeping the nacelles from being perfectly perpendicular to the ship, so I wedged toothpicks between the nacelles and struts to force them outward (intending to putty over them or something to hide them), but seeing your video where you explained they were supposed to be canted inward slightly helped to clear that up. Thanks to your insight, now I know!

Edit: I should have said that I put the toothpicks at the junction of the struts and the body of the ship. Either way, I goofed!
