Aztec, did you do the lights yourself or is that one of Randy's kits?

Re: Kit of the USS Daedalus NCC-129?

I think the kits and builds look great but IMHO the black pinstriping takes it out of scale. I know this was apparently on the desktop model (prob to make it pop on set) but it makes the wonderful scale models look toylike. Again, not a criticism of the kit or the beautiful builds but if I do one I think Ill omit the pinstriping.

SD, it's my own concoction. way back on post #373 I gave a short description, but it's a combo of a "store bought" module for the strobes and nav lights, a couple of homemade bussard bundles (courtesy of master Steve's design ) two 3mm cool whites for the top and bottom of the ball and some big ole 10mm warm white LEDs for cabin lighting.

I got the decals on last night and now that I step back and look at it mostly complete...I have to say I'm agreeing about the pinstripes. Maybe if they were painted on, or were not black, but very dark grey, they'd look more natural. I'll have to assess whether it's feasible at this point to replace them.

Re: Kit of the USS Daedalus NCC-129?

final update!

here are pictures of the final ship. Once they was sprayed with the flat sealer, the black lines looked a lot more natural and the whole ship looks less like a toy and more like the fine kit that Steve created.

thanks again for making this kit and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Still need the black pinstripes and some final clearcoat, but here's another one...

Big thanks to Steve as well as Randy from VooDoo, excellent support, much appreciated!

Mine is still in a box waiting to be built. I love the fact that I have something great to look forward to working on.

Gotta finish with my Anubis and Horus run before I can touch this baby.

...I'll get there, Steve.
