Not finished yet but thought I'd share. All I did was remove the panel lines and rework the cockpit and weaponry. Hopefully a decent paint job will take it a step further

Cool. Exactly what I'm doing with mine. I like what you did with the guns. They toy guns look terrible. Excellent paint work.
TazMan2000.
Verrrrrrrry nice. I wish I could do the guns like that. They're great
I noticed the engine rings at the back are lacking the correct detail. This is what I did after making a paper template with lines marked at every 15 degrees to get the placement right.

I have a huge box full of hasbro ships and figures. I mean over 20 ships and some 100'or so figures that I intended for conversion bit will never do. Love watching what you guy's are doing though. Looks great!
You really shouldn't have shown me that. I'd convinced myself that all the missing details on this thing didn't matter....![]()
a-wing is awsome.got this one as well.been thinkin about doing it and this is very inspiring.
Thats gorgeous and a really big upgrade over to what it originally was. Makes me want to run out and buy a toy a-wing already.
Oddly enough for all the custom action figures I've done I have never thought of picking up any of these vehicles to rework.
Excellent job, really impressive.
If you don't mind sharing the info, I was curious as to what you used to make the guns & gun mount for your A Wing.
I'm new to customizing and to this site, so if I'm breaking protocol in any way by asking I apologize in advance. I picked up this ship used at a flea market & would love to do this.
The landing gear on mine seems to be intact, but not working properly so I've been meaning to take it apart to see if I could repair it anyway.
Again, really great work.
Cheers
The guns are just made from aluminium and plastic tubing with a couple of rocket mounts scavenged from an Apache kit. I simply drilled the body at the points I wanted the guns mounting and pushed a piece of plastic tubing right the way through. The cannons were then drilled and had a smaller diameter aluminium rod glued into them so that they tension fit the body tube. Nothing flash or difficult!
Wow, I need to redo my A-Wing now. How did you make the guns?
