    Apr 4, 2011 - Hasbro Conversion - Hoth Anti Infantry Battery #1

Here was a quick project. Not much done except some details on the top hatch and a coat of paint with weathering.

You're absolutely right. It needs something there.

I liked this so much I decided to get one myself. That and the fact that it was on special at the time.

To make it more visually appealing I've thought about having my Hasbro Snowspeeder roaring past it. But don't hold your breath waiting for pics. I'm slow to work on my ideas.

How much were they normally where you are? If you want, I can look for one here in Australia but the strength of the Australian dollar probably wont make it any cheaper.

My turret was from the (Target Exclusive) Battle of Hoth playset, but the Defense of Hoth playset (more recent) has the same turret, and is cheaper (about 40 bucks on Ebay).

I should have waited for the new set, since it has a repeating blaster that would look cool positioned in front and would add more visual interest.

A snowspeeder would look great too (banking above and to the side) Junkpilot. Good luck with that.

It was the Defense of Hoth playset that I got. $30AUD. A bargain here in Australia.

What did you make your snowscape from TazMan? Is that plaster?

Yes, plaster with a few coats of flat white. Scupted to give the impression of an dry, frozen and well traversed outpost. I may burnish it to give the "ice" some shininess...but then again, it was just a quick and dirty project.
