This is the only one that I have seen in my wanderings.

There may be others.

Lunar Models makes a nice, 16-inch kit with a vacuformed hull and resin details. A resin interior with figures is available separately.

You can find both here:

Lunar Models: Proteus Kits

{EDIT} Oops. I tried the direct link above, but it defaults to a general catalog page.

Use the following link and put "Proteus" into the Search window on the left. That'll do the trick.

I usually am happier with the larger Lunar versions of those 60's kits but the Wilco Proteus is a very nice kit for the money and it comes with the interior. I'm not sure if Lunar even offers an interior kit?

The best part is if you buy the Wilco kit now it comes with the newly tooled top/canopy section and the better Raquel Welch figure! :P

The Lunar Models kit is far superior, but more expensive.

No apology necessary, FLUKE, although I thank you for the gesture.

Just wanted to draw your attention to information that might be useful to you.

having done the simple mods to the cabin roof and Cora figure for Wilco, I'm naturally a fan of that model, especially as it relatively easily builds up into a nice kit for a very reasonable price per my last post.

For a balanced approach, if you want to see an example of the Lunar kit, look here:

http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.p...ghlight=Proteus

Its truly a lovely model. Compared to the Wilco, the Lunar is bigger and more accurate as you can see. But its also a lot more expensive and much more work, even for a very skilled modeler like the fine chap in the link above.

But if you've got the cash to spare, the skills and no fear of a lot of work, then the Lunar may very well be the kit you want.

Hi Lan!!

I think Sarge's email adress is "Wilcomodels@hotmail.com".

And through more traditional means at:

WILCO Models
2826 Russell Avenue
Abilene, TX 79605
(915) 677-7009

If that doesn't work shoot me a PM on one of the boards we frequent and I'll get you the address. Tell Bill that Dave Hussey sent ya!

And for anyone not that familiar with resin kits, here is a link to a build-up that i did of another Wilco kit, with some introductory tips on building resin kits (as if I'm some kind of expert. That's a laugh!!
