Build for board member.
    Bits laid out for check:

    Lights test pic (flashers off):

    Lights test pic (flashers on):

Blacking the interior to avoid light leakage:

Secondary Hull and Warp Engines completed:

Screen cap from the unseen episode, "Attack of the killer pegs":

    Final assembly and filling:

Whitecoat done (apologies to BR for my apparent lack of progress!):

    Detailing pics:

More detailing on Nacelles, upper secondary hull and saucer:

Decals on, only a bit more detail to do.Clear matt/satin/gloss aztecing...

Clear matt/satin/gloss aztecing started, top of saucer complete - an intensely tedious and annoying but ultimately rewarding task...

They knew exactly where to hit us...

Top registry removed from wrong place...

    ...and put in correct place!

Finished, done, complete, finito, the end.

    Looks great!!!

I would recommend a chrome or silver layer for the interior parts rather than black. It helps to intensify the internal lighting...

    Ooooh, pretty ship.

The black's an undercoat for the silver.

Anyone know if the Wrath of Khan Enterprise was 'A' or just plain '1701'?

Thanks!! It's sort of a freestyle Enterprise version.

I see that you are doing a Wrath of Khan version. That is a personal fav of mine. Will it display any battle damage? Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see more.

Yeah, i'm doing a WoK version with battle damage - I've got the WoK DVD and it has great shots of the damage areas in the extras.

I remember sitting with a soldering iron in hand watching the battle scenes frame by frame on an ancient vcr (which was pretty new at the time). Ahhh the memories

TWOK - still the best trek movie BY FAR!

Can't tell from the images, did you give the exterior a pearlescent finish, or a more stark one?

that is a very cool site but I'd highly recommend watching the battle scenes in frame by frame - preferrably on DVD - if you need it let me know and I'll hook you up

Nice build ups . I've got an ol' Motion Picutre Smoothy kit still lying in a box that I need to build. Gonna accurize the hell outta her and light it up. Not sure when I'll get to her since I haven't felt like putting a model together for over six months now.

Thanks, Clerval!! Mine is more of a flat white with several off-white accents. So sorry, my pics aren't the best they could be. At the time, I was more concerned on getting the full effect of the LEDs in the picture while working with an outdated camera.

A pearlescent type finish would be really nice, though.

Not to hijack this thread with my personal gear, I just merely wanted to give a little illustrative input to , Sidewinder's most excellent craftsmanship with this type of thing. I really love this particular model and am looking forward to seeing how his is coming along.

That is a cool pic. Looks like the Enterprise is "pinned" down from an enemy attack!

But seriously, it is looking good!!!

    Keep us posted.

Nicely done! So did the board member want to have this Enterprise look like from Star Trek II? By the way for the top Registry number you should have moved it down one space....never go by what the instructions say...if ya look at the movies it's down one line....guess it's too late now but just to give ya that tip next time you build another one . Not trying to bash you here on it just a tip. Still excellent job on the model. .

Just a thought for those who do 'damaged' versions... the filming model of the Enterprise was coated with rubber cement, globbed on in spots where scorch marks and blast depressions were wanted. This was airbrushed with dark streaks to get the damaged look without actually screwing up the surface. A good look that can be reversed.

Hmm with your post Clerval you must have watched the 2nd disc for Star Trek III on DVD where it showed the studio model with physical battle burns, huh? lol
