Hi GF
Thanks for your detailed reply. Very useful
Looks greatEnjoyed the wip. Nice work.
I'm still with you! Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed info with us and--at least for me--taking some of the "mysticism" out of airbrushing.
As it happens, I already have a small, two-tank compressor for air tools (like my nail and brad guns) so I'm a little way there already! It's a cheapo Home Depot bundle purchase (it came with the tools), so it's blazing away every few minutes, but it's what I could afford and has never failed me.
I see an airbrush in my future...

I can't stand the sound of the compressor running while I work, so I use it to fill a 15 gallon tank and paint from that. It's usually enough to get through a job.
Just like this, except this one is 11 gallons 11 Gallon Portable Air Tank I have an 11 and a 15 gallon. I used to use a small 2 gallon compressor to fill them. It took a while, but then I could work in peace & quiteIf I need more air, I just take a break while they refill.
Cool idea. Never thought of that. I was always just wearing ear protection.
Oh wow, this tank is going to the top of my Christmas list. You've just made my wife sooooooo happy! She hates hearing my compressor firing off every 5 minutes, so I know she'll get me one! Hehe.

Do you mind me asking what is the brand of paint you are using?
I'm not sure of all of what he uses but some of the ones in the pics are craft paints like walmart used to have. There's a bunch of different brands out there so hopefully you'll let you know what the best are. I used them on action figures as it's amazingly cheap paint but works well.
I used mostly all Folk Art brand acrylics from AC Moore. They can also be purchased at Michaels and Jo Anne fabrics.
Really works great and dries super fast to keep you moving through a build.
I think I do ok w/ models, but I've only done machines and monsters....nothing that required smooth skin. I have a Bride of Frankenstein to do, but she will prob be matched to the one I did of him.....crusty green![]()
Sorry for being late to the party. I just stumbled across it and wow, this turned out great. Stuff like the sofa... Great work!
be honest, did you giggle when you painted the "ta-ta's".... he he
really cool build, im going to look for one on the net now
Very nice!!!
Back in the "day" (whatever that is supposed to mean) I did dozens of figure kits, some for commission, some for me and I have to say you did a bang up job on this kit. I was a little nervous because the raw kit looked a little lacking in detail and likeness to Cassie, but you pulled it off just great.
The two figures that I most enjoyed doing was John Wright's Raquel Welch cavegirl and Randy Bowen's cold cast Predator figure.
I'd love to do figure kits for people, these are so gratifying to complete.
I finally met her a couple months ago. I was so excited I forgot to ask her to sign Cassandra instead of Elvira before she was done. She is very nice.......and still looks great.
Thanks for all the positive feedback.
Don't forget to check out my Moebius Models Bride of Frankenstien build.
