This was a thread about my build of the 1/350 scale kit from Pegasus Hobbies, the Cosmostrator from the movie, FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS.
Sorry to waste the time of those who looked at it, and did not think to comment.

I didn't see it, so was unable to comment. Why not post it again so those of us that missed it can have a look and hopefully post some comments.
I thought I'd get a good amount over my galactica build. 700+ views and 3-4 comments. Don't be annoyed about a lack of comments. You're showing off something your rightfully proud off- so lets see it.

I agree with 32buds. you can't let the lack of comments get you down. It happens often. If I commented on all the great projects I look at. I would have to quit my day job..
So please post your build again.

OK, here are the photos again. I get frustrated taking the photos, uploading them, and then start a thread, and no comments. ALL comments are wanted!

that is a good looking build, but alas... if it's not star wars or trek, there's generally not a lot of comments.
don't let that keep you from posting though.

Thanks for all of the comments!

I notice that since the model came out, on the sites I go to, I'm the only one posting a finished model.
I am a fan of the movie, really enjoy watching it.

Thanks, again!

Looks awesome. and If you let the pictures stay open In this thread. It could be commented on years from now. people dig up old threads all the time.

I'm not sure how long you left your thread open, but patience is key. If you delete the pictures no-one will be able to comment, so that just makes things worse really. Adding some words to explain what it is/how you did it etc. is probably a good idea too :)

I'm not familiar with the design but I found the movie on Youtube and it looks pretty close to your model. In some of the shots there are what look like black bands on the engine pods, but they could also be part of the launch tower?

Is the model from the Pegasus kit, or a scratchbuild? Do you have any photographs of the build process?

Cheers,

Will

I think it looks great! What did you make it out of?
I think this was on an episode of MST3K wasn't it?

Thanks, Daniel! It is a 1/350 scale kit from Pegasus Hobbies, and they have the same scale kit of the Luna, from Destination Moon.
I never watched MST3K, but, read that it was.

Thanks, Sean! The photos are staying.

Thanks, Will! Here are some details on my build.

The clear part near the top spike, I masked off the part that the light would come out from the beacon, and the flash makes it look white, as it should be. The mat like base, is a ground textured sheet I had in stock, painted black to look like the charred Venus surface.

No, build progress shot. I just get into the building, and hope to just finish it. The model is easy to build, and the seams are not bad. I did very little puttying as it did not need it.

The original movie was called Silent Star, and you can find a subtitled version on youtube. Just a little longer, not much different from the dubbed version.
