Staggeringly amazing work. I am so impressed!!

Thank you guys. Such praise from the likes of you all really means something.
to me.
Working on the top of the drive section. A couple of kit parts could be used right out of the box, others had to be up-sized from scratch.
This same detailed plate, thats kinda shaped like a grand piano lid, can also be seen on the Destiny in Stargate Universe.
I had to remove and steepen the angled pipes of the middle top / bottom engines.
Also.. something interesting about the four overhanging fantails surrounding the engines is that they don't just extent straight out the back, but rather each rear most tip bends up/down respectively by almost an inch.

Sides of the engine section are done.
Everything on the rear section finally under primer.
Studio model to compare

WOW,
That thing is huge.
Great job on it so far. Keep it up!
Attached all the plates to the main hull and completed the forward collar that the girder & truss assembly will attach to.
Also affixed the 15 bases (cogged wheel looking things) that will eventually receive the domes.

Love the side mount! Is that a custom welded stand extension? Are you still using speaker/C stands?
Fantastic build, but what did we expect? LOL Finding a way to bring a CG creation like this to life can't be an easy feat. You must have had to figure out solutions for all sorts of challenges. Amazing work as always.![]()
Some more bits either carved or cut out with the freakin laser beam.
These grates will go on the underside of the command section.
Behind is the oval slotted rail gun kit part, copied in basswood, already installed on the side of the command section.
About a hundred of these little guys line the sides of the ships main body.
These two dome mounts are rejects. Laser power was too high and burned the edges.

The front of the ship (command section) is coming together.
These Tamiya british field gun / quad tractor parts had to be recreated just a bit larger than scale.

This is too amazing not to be filmed. Quick, somebody get a budget and a shooting script!
Your build looks fantastic!
I always love the wip pics.
I can't wait to see the agro-domes.
This is absolutely phenomenal! I don't know if I'll EVER become skilled enough to do something like this!
Wow, this is amazing.
Question is: where are you going to put it and how the heck are you going to dust it?
My wife would kill me....
Thanks guys.
Underside of the nose section is finished.
Seems the CG artist liked to detail this model with real world kit parts - expensive kit parts

Detailing the top of the command section.
Bending that tiny black metal wire was dangerous work. Had to clean up several blood drops from the model.
The green antenna dishes up front are tips of plastic easter eggs. Green eggs work best for some reason. Any other color wouldn't cut smooth. The Y shaped antennas are bits of railing from the Hasegawa Leopold rail gun.

As a BSG fan, I'm astounded with the detail, and size, of this ship. The model is so very clean looking. Amazing work!
Cheers,
Guy
I am amazed by how clean and faithful it is.
