BLADE RUNNER "Spinner" color scheme question....

So…. I recently bought a Randy Cooper SPINNER Studio Scale model and I love it. He included a CD with ref pictures...now he had the color of the spinner as a turquoise color in a few pix....is this accurate? I thought they were dark blue? I am assuming he has done his home work but..just want to confirm it with you experts out there……help?

Real color = turquoise

Film color = dark blue because of the lighting

I don't think its really a turquoise, but more of a primary blue. I think the old photos always have a warm tone, often in the yellow end of the spectrum, giving the blue a tint.

I can't remember if I'm using Testors French Blue or Bright Blue, but whatever color that can at home is it looks the part to my eye. In good lighting it appears to be a bright blue and borderline navy blue at night.

Funny how these colors can appear to be different hues in stills and on film. One thing I noticed in all of the spinner studio model reference I could find is that the interior is a darker blue than the body. The seats and dash of the full size mockup used for interior shots is also a dark blue.

The full size flying spinner now on display in Seattle has been restored, but despite being restored by the original fabricator is now a shade of metallic blue. I do not recall any of the spinners colored with a metallic blue.

I plan on using Testors French blue when I get around to building mine. I always thought it was the same shade as Michigan State Police blue.

The tie color is a slate blue
