THE BETTY (Alien resurrection)

Ok heres the start of the Betty model im doing. its roughly 1/3 scale of the original. model. i recently got to work on a new betty and have some great reference to go by for my version.

the engine you see here was started before i got the reference, so some minor tweaks need to be done to bring it up to what the original looks like. I will be making those changes this weekend. this is one of my favorite non star wars ship.

Wasn't there someone on SCI-FI MESHS that did a
REALLY good Betty ?

Not sure if you have all the reference you need, just
thought I'd add that...

Not sure if your kidding around, but im pretty sure i have more ref than anyone. Seeing as i got to look at and handle all the original patterns and every photo the studio has.

I meant that I know allot of guys over at Sci-Fi Meshs
loved some fellows work and I didn't know if that " meant "
he had access to the physical model to make his Mesh..

About three years ago a big project was underway to offer a studio scale version, but it seems to have dried up.

started reshaping the main engine, it has a more curved look to it now as opposed to the square box shape before. got the basic shape cut out and still refining everything and truing things up in bondo. not finished yet but heres a few pics.

Super cool! One of my favorite starship designs, and frankly the ONLY good thing in that flik. Looks like you have her well in hand. I'll be following this thread closely. Do you have any plans to cast the final and sell kits? Thank you for posting.

Also its very large and a support structure will be needed which im not going to supply. But will supply a small blue print to help construct it.

no, but i heard it was some where close by. i actually got to look at and work on a new one for the studio. all the original patterns where in perfect shape. and i took plenty of pictures for reference. so i hope i can do it justice.

heres a few pics of the main body sections mocked up in there basic position. i made them out of acrylic and skinned them in styrene. the tops are removable for access to lighting when i get to that. next up going to mount it to a support structure and stand to make it easier to work on and later mount to a permanent stand.

Got it mounted on its work base. still need to reinforce the lower mounting point. and add some more acrylic to the inside for when i mount the wings at a later date. but its coming along.
