Anyone ever repaint the big Hasbro Millenium Falcon?

Picking one up today for 100 on craigslist, cheaper then ebay. Saw some old posts and wanted to see if anyone had ever reworked or did a repaint on the Legacy hasbro Falcon? I plan on weathering and some rework on it myself.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but nothing will make that thing look any better than 'awful'.

Why not grab a Fine Molds or even an MPC and paint that? The end product will be a lot more pleasing.

I've seen it done, but don't have any pics to show you.....the end result is "neat", but still toyish looking.

This was posted on Ebay in 2008, and starwars.com ran an article on it.

No it won't be accurate, but go for it.

while a lot better then the original falcon Hasbro produced this baby has a long way to go to be a reasonable model of the Falcon. Just like their original the cockpit and tube are horribly oversized so that the figures can fit inside easily. But a repaint will certainly make it look better. Good luck with it. If you decide to rebuild the cockpit and tube that would be a pretty interesting thread!

Sure would. I take back what I said, that repaint is much less awful than the bare toy.

The reasons it has the same wrong proportions are doubtless partly for playability and figures to fit, but also probably because they actually hired the same guy to design it! After the PowerFX X-wing you'd expect a bit more. Oh well.
