AMT Slave One WIP

Exceptional detailing work. I think when you're done, it would be difficult for one to actually see this as an AMT kit.

Keep up the great work!

Yes! Randy13 common! keep em coming! I like your Slave 1 interior ideas . Your work is phenomenal always clean and neat. Cant wait to see the final product.(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup

Thank you guys so much. You all help keep me going and help keep me motivated to get this finished. The support I see on various other threads and seeing fellow RPFrs help each other bring out the best in our ablilties and our builds is quite touching. I'm very happy I joined this community. I've learned so much from so many of you.

Oh, and Scratchy, I know you've been busy with those FM, MF radar dish upgrades but do you plan on returning to your Star Destroyer build sometime soon? It's absolutly stunning.

Here's the back wall of the cargo area. I tried to make something that looks like a door and storage compartments.

"Impressive. Most impressive"

You have a "good eye" for this. Not only do you have strong scratchbuilding and kitbashing skills, but the parts you selected for this section of your Slave 1 are very much in-keeping with the look of the vehicles in the Star Wars universe. It's a shame some of this detail won't be easily seen once it's sealed up inside the ship's hull, but it'll go a long way towards making your finished build-up more realistic. Nice work!

Veeery nice! Looks all ESB to me! Well done on making a great deign, and well done on knowing how much greebles to use. It woud have been easy to overdo it, but this is a great balance imo. :thumbsup

Thank you so much for the kind words guys.:thumbsup While picking the kitbash parts, I was trying to look for pieces that would cast interesting shadows from the interior lighting and tried to find parts that looked “Star Wars” enough. When it comes time to paint this, I was thinking of an overall gray color with certain parts having their own colors and accents. I hope to be able to post ceiling pictures tonight.

Here's a picture of the ceiling. The picture came out a little dark and I tried to lighten it up a little. Hope you can mak out the details. The little bright spots you see there are holes I drilled out for some fiber optic strands.

Thank you Randy13, I would like to get back at the ISD. However, I would also like to finish my 1/144 Falcon too.

The corridor on the Slave I looks very well balanced. Nice job!

Before going gray, look at the exterior, the yellow and olive green are really cool, and I might consider giving the gray a tint of light beige, or maybe yellow, but still with the gray feel to it, if you understand what I mean.

Ceiling looking good!

Thanks guys. Nazgul, I like you idea a lot. When I start painting that part, I will try painting different sections in slightly different tints of gray. I like what I can picture in my head. Getting it to come out that way will be a different story. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks Nazgul. :thumbsup

This is excellent work! I've always written most of the MPC/ERTL/AMT stuff off as too much of a hassle when it comes to proportions. Seeing this work though, made me buy one off Ebay right away and I intend to build it in the landed position as well! Will keep the FM one I'm building in a flying state, one can't have too many Slave 1s :love Most impressive stuff!

Excellent work my friend, simply excellent!
Yet another MPC build that proves you can do wonders with these kits!!

Thanks for posting this!

I've been following this thread for a while and think it's a great refit! But the cargo interior is absolutely FANTASTIC! :love If this makes any sense at all...everything you've put into it looks like it makes "sense". The parts LOOK like they're supposed to belong there.

Kudos!!! Keep it up!

Thank you so much guys!!! I really appreciate all the support that helps keep me going even when I think I’ll a little over my head in what I’ve started doing here. I don’t have any pictures to post right now because I’ve been trying out different things with the lighting to see what gets the effect I’m looking for. Then I’ll start upgrading the cockpit. Thank you all for being patient with me on this build.

Time to post some pictures. I've put putty on the seams in the hull and etched in lines more where they should be. I've also replaced that small bit on the port side of the hull.

Next a[ coat of paint to see how everything looks. It will need more sanding to smooth things out.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. My dad has been a smoker for many years but quit a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago my dad had some pain behind his back tooth and they found cancer there. It was removed and we'll know in the next few days if there are any signs of cancer elsewhere in his body. But for now, looks like it was caught early enough :thumbsup. Don't smoke! If you do smoke, please stop.

While my dad was getting some minor surgery, I was doing some major surgery on the cockpit and started adding some details. On with the pix...
