The Ambassador Class

I stared on this one today after finishing the B9 finally. This will no doubt be another long build and seeing hoe long these windows take to drill it could be some time before i even need any primer!

Just why do we put ourselves through this? :)

For the Love and Passion of persueing the best model made with your own skills and methodes of modelmaking. *heavenly choir sings* :lol

It's for me so i dont have to worry about it being perfect,i just do the best i can. I might think about the paint scheme though, the 'real' paint scheme seems to have too many stark contrasts so i might dull it down a bit, we'll see. I guess it depends on which colours i have in the box when i am ready to start it. Thanks for all of the positive comments chaps, all very much appreciated.

Would help in compensating for the smaller scale too.

You know they did a version of this kit all in clear styrene for lighting, right? Think I have one stuffed away somewhere...

Also, would be a bear of a job, but I bet it may look better if you filled in all those concentric panel lines then redrew them in pencil.

I tend to do out of the box builds with very little modification, if you have seen my puttying and sanding you will know what i mean. The current panels will be fine for what i want to do.

I am glad your doing this. my crazy life is at odds with my own projects and it will be a few months before I can start my C. So I will just enjoy yours, vicariously!:)

Mine is hold already, im off on my hols for a couple of weeks so i wont be back to it just yet. Also my build take some time as i only get chance to work on them every couple of weeks or so but im sure ill get it done. :)

Always had a thing for the Ambassador class, its cleaner lines and simpler shapes just look better than the Galaxy (IMHO). Don't see many new ones being built, so I'll be watching this with interest (and jealousy).

Thanks for the confidence.................... Ill do the best i can. Drilling the windows is SUCH a pain in the arse though :)

Well, back on the job today and most of the day was spent getting those windows sorted. I have gone through about 6 drill bits but now have both the upper and lower saucer sections done. The lower section is also primed, light blocked with black and a couple of coats of white to ensure the light reflects. Just the really tiny windows around the bridge to do and then choose some colours. It seems that the navigation lights are going to be real pain as i will have to drill them out but they are positioned right above the mounting pegs for the two saucer sections to go together, im sure ill sort something out though. Then ill have to think about the lighting i guess.
