ALIENS - Massive 1:8 Scale Project. (Battle diorama)

One problem at a time as they say .. he he. I found material that will help me build the APC, some of this is not free, but every source of information cannot be and I can get refund on it at a later time. This is an investment as I see it.

There is one thing that is bugling my mind atm and that is the rotating warning beacon. I've seen people use LED's for this and its fine, but its not the real deal. So this is something I need to figure out.

Just watched Prometheus EXTRAS and my initial thought yesterday that the AVP series does not work for me anymore. Sure I can watch them, but in relationship to the ALIEN series including Prometheus, the entire timeline of AVP is way off. Its just completely wrong. I love the Predator series and as a concept just like I LOVE the ALIEN series, but the mixture is not okay. I've even seen people mix Terminator and Predator etc, that's just wrong.

Just wanted to get this out of my system.

Found a motor that just might be what I need for the beacon. Ofc, the rest need to be manufacture, but cogwheel's should not be to hard to locate. Mechanical watches have that.
Its the one in the middle of the picture.

Maybe I can explore the motors used in PC fans, they are rather small and have an axial construction. I have a few laying around ... I love my brain sometimes... ha ha

Funny you like Terminator and Predator. There was a comic crossover of Predator, Alien, and Terminator.

Hollywood Collectible's Power Loader in 1:4 scale, wow

This one will cost you. I am tempted, but the question is, do I need it ? Hot Toy's are releasing the BTTF DeLorean in 1:6 scale and I am getting that one first.

SUCK A D***** .. the UPS guy knocked on my door at the "right" time, just when I went out to the store for 30 min, talk about luck. Now I must wait until Monday to get the package (power loader). &"#¤&!%(=(((*** is what I can say about that and ontop of that, we have heatwave for several days in a row that will last until sunday, so now I am pissed for more than one reason. Oh well, at least I get updates from comicon about ALIENS and BTTF

So the question is if I should make blueprints or just build as I go (?) I also need a lathe and mill, found some machines that is of interest.

GOOD NEWS. I have a small brushless 12V DC motor that I can (hopefully) us as the base for the rotor in the beacon warning light. I need to modify it, but will not do that before I have my mill. But this is good news

The Halcyon Power Loader is here. Finally. A long weekend of just waiting is over, and the box is complete. So now a long period of measuring begins. Its going to be a blast.

Time for an update.

I've decided to construct the power loader using Sketchup. That way I will have a 3D model and also be able to produce blueprints. Even if I have the Halcyon version, this one isn't 100 percent in details, so I need to study some of the work already out there and also study ALIENS for details. It will be an effort on my side to produce this 3D and blueprints, so even if it is quiet, that does not mean that I am not working. I will share material with you so that you can see that there is progress. I know I love to see when people share their work as they move along.
