That's very cool!!
Skullbeast - MORE PICTURES, PLEASE! (pretty please?)
Thanks for the kind words Christrom - and those model explosions are the first time I've seen that effect achieved and it's not goofy - in fact, far from it. You seem to be good at finding modeling hacks what with this and the fake snow. At some point down the line I'd like to do a (Lynch) Dune Guild Navigator in his tank - a little gaseous melange would look great in there with it but the only way I can think of achieving it so far is immersing the whole model in clear resin with 'cloudy' areas' - if there's a better way you can think of or come across it would be good to know
I know what you mean Carsten about the pointy head, but it really grew on me - very aquatic. Might have been interesting to have a slightly different (but distinct) version for the tripod harvester. Thanks for the base compliment - it's pretty damn handy that minimal also means less work too
Skull Beast - I really appreciate you showing those pictures, many thanks and fantastic work. I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of raising the light levels beneath the hood as work this good deserves to be seen!
It seems I needn't have worried about seamlessly blending the under hood to the outer hood after all
And am I right in seeing a very slight green hue to certain areas or would that be reflection? I'm also curious about the scale and hope the model is stored well - possibly for display at some point.
I'd love to see more photos and more of the history as well. It's an excellent painting guide if nothing else. Thanks.
