Looking sweet, I so love the look of models over the CGI or cartoon ships. The Models always have a more tangible feel and look more natural. I can’t wait to see your next project. :thumbsup
Here's a build up I'm doing of Anakin's ship. I made the other one so fast I forgot to take very many build pics. First thing I do is hollow out the rear of the engine with my dremel, after drilling a pilot hole.
It's hollowed out about an inch, just to give it some depth. This isn't necessary, but it has a better look I think.
After primer. I put on the pylons, they have to be carefully lined up with the body, using the nacelles as a guide. It takes a little bit to get it straight, but not too much work. Then I put on the base coat, which is Tamiya white with a few drops of silver.
Great looking kit Rel. It would be cool to see this ship done as a half prequel, half sequel. Kind of like a cutaway deal. Especially in SS scale. Or a Diorama in a hanger bay with the stripped ship and the body panels on the floor in a pile

Great idea - buy one and have at it man - it will be killer! SInce some fo the FM parts were used to abse this from you probably could interchange bits... Sounds like a great project!
Speaking of buying it - Are these ready yet? I saw on another board that people seemed to have gotten a few. I have 2 reserved but have not gotten any email or anything to send the money. I know that REL is not asking for money unitl he has kit in hand (good policy if you can swing it), I'm just wondering where I am in the queue...
REL's 1/72 scale Y-Wing kit is now exclusively available at skidmarksdiecast.com. Those of you who already have it know what an awesome kit it is. I've got my own kit and I've seen REL's build-up in person. It's frikkin' incredible!
