Thanks Phil, I just finished all the bits n bobs that needing doing, painting the rear, adding missing & new I'd's. Only one task remains, making the bracing for the cockpit glass. Its so close I can taste it

The never ending story is coming to an end.

Spent all last night touching up, adding the last I'd's (that I know of), fitting it all together & painting the back end. I decided to use a mix of the 2 studio models on the rear as it just looks a whole lot better to the eye.

Now the last task, making the clasps & fitting the cockpit braces. These have been really tricky to do. The screws I'm using turned up today but I think are a little small but will do for now.

Just a flat out gorgeous finish for an inspiring scratch build, Guy. I've always admired the shape and color scheme of the original A-Wing models and it seems as though yours came right out of the Archives. Probably even better, the more I look at these pictures. The red you used is remarkably spot-on, to my eye.

Looking forward to your next project.

I reckon, from 20 paces, Guy could take down an angry Wasp with an airbrush..........Fantastic work....loving the canopy bar!

Thanks so much fellas, the red with out the mist coats is quite off to the original but I new I was going to mist like mad so had to mix the red accordingly. I have still only ever used tamiya acrylics and the don't do any decent stock reds like other companies so It was a brave step putting that first coat on.

Lee, I really hope you get to see this soon, its so frustrating just having Michelle see it all the time

I think I've taken out a few blue bottles in my time but must think about a wasp upgrade

Just waiting on some bigger screws for the canopy & its officially done, well aside from the missing ID's at the rear & in the rear canopy bulkhead.

Very very kind, I really did want it to look authentic. Although it looks kinda simple to paint as there isn't much weathering on the originals. The hard part is holding back, I always go that little bit too far. I've tried to reign that in with the A wing, even last night I was pacing up & down thinking I've gone overboard on the thruster marks on the fins. I think thats how I get it to look old & battered, I'm always re doing and chasing my tail

If anyone (EFX) ever produced this, I can promise it will be one serious addition to any collection, it really is huge. I cant thank Mike enough for parting with his hulls for me.

Cheers Allan, well when I say finished, it is for now. Still a lot of ID's on the rear to be nailed but I'm not even going to scratch them till I'm sure nothing turns up over the next few months. I found a new one last week so anything is possible?

Its been a fun ride & one I still feel shocked that it actually worked , I've still a long long way to go till I reach the standards of people round here but If I do say so myself Its bloody gorgeous. I just cant stop looking at it, the addition of the braces over the cockpit has made a huge difference to the look of it.

I think I must have thanked 3D about 103 times during this build but I strongly feel that its totally deserved. It all started with Mike's good will & will end with my Good will back to him, everytime.

Mike mate, thank you so much for your constant & always timely support through this build & thanks to all the people that helped me achieve this build to the standard that it is.

Alright Guy, fess up bud..... you stole that model from the Lucasfilm archives!! Dude, that is by far the most accurate looking A-wing I've ever seen, your detailing and paint job is perfection!! I'm seriously thinking on having you do a commission for me now.
