I loved this ship also when I was a kid. I made one out of tiolet paper rolls and I think painted it white with liquid paper of all things! Which Saturn model? I'd love to give this one a shot...

I doubt I'd do it as a kit. The Sled for the Vulcan Shuttle was, for the most part, a one-off in that it was bent aluminum.

Holy Cow! They DID use the Saturn V on that thing! No part left behind!

I forgot about this till just this week, but some of the STAR WARS guys worked on that Filmation stuff right after they wrapped up work at ILM and before they went back for GALACTICA.

I found one of them had scanned some slides of the actual Space Academy asteroid -

I'll have to ask them what the story is with that one ship.........

Those pics of the Academy are awesome Gene! Brings back some great memories but now in sharper focus.
