I spent 7 hours drawing up the plans for the thruster assembly on the model and it looks good. Can`t wait to start building it, it is going to be HUGE!!!
61 cm wide, 35 cm high and 54 cm long. This section will take a LONG time to do....

Lasse, on the R.C. Model, it was also the hardest, most tedious part. It's just so involved and practically impossible to keep it all lined up properly when building. I hope you have an easier time than I did with the R. C.

I just realized i have to make the entire cockpit section again from scratch.

I always felt it was too slim, someting that was confirmed by new documentation. It is marginally larger and it is slightly thicker in the middle. It is the face of the model and it MUST be right....

I used to get so burned when I made a huge error like this and now I realize it's part of the riddle building Star Wars stuff. Getting it right separates the men from the boys.

The "stuff" in these films is simply full of riddles.

Re-making the Hammerhead-section feels good. I have known for a long time that this would have to be done, but lived in "denial" until now. I have the volume with the window and cut-away sections in place already, and it looks a lot better.

Just to give a short update on this build - i AM working on the new hammerhead section and it will soon be finished. The reason it takes so long is a mix of overtime at my "real" job and a lack of energy

I will post progress and comparison pics very soon, maybe tonight.

Here you have the progress on the NEW hammerhead section on my SS Tantive IV. Up to this point it is ALL scratch-building, no kit-bashing. I hope you can appreciate the work going into this piece. It equals building a SS escape pod and more...:hammer:
You can also see the difference in size from the first version :wtf: quite a lot

The next step is some kitbashing, a little more scratchbuilding and then primer
