    Jun 16, 2012 - SS Salzo Viper #1

Hello ,not really new here , but this is my first post . Here are a few pics of my studio scale salzo viper . Full armature and scratch built display and lighting are some of the features . Brass piping replaces the resin cast pieces .Paints are model master arcrylics with some tamiya weathering pastels and " real " rust ,for the weathered look .

    Darkimmitator,

sharp looking Viper. I really like the weathering, especially on the back, where the rust has a textured look.

    Barry.

Mine is sitting in a box next to me on my desk...whispering to me...tempting me. But, alas I have a couple of other things to finish before I tackle this one! Nice job on the build and paint job Darkimmitator! Saw your build on SSM and it's given me some great ideas on how to tackle mine.

Congrats on the awards too for this build too! Nice job!!

Thank you Nazgul . There are no washes on this build .Just fogged on some heavily thined flat black with an airbrush . The rest of the weathering is just pastel powders.

Thank you 3phase . You will be very happy with Jasons castings , he has done an excellent job on his kits so far . This one is one of Mike salzo's kits however .

Thank you Barryjoe . The rusty look is actually real rust that i have collected and ground up into a fine powder . Just loaded up a old paintbrush and jamed it into nooks and cranies that look like they might get rusty in the real world .

Thank you Delleios . I feel as though the model looks unfinnished . I plan on chipping the painted stripes and adding a bit more soot and oil streaks in and around the engine nacells . I also have to add the little mounting cap that is located ahead of the canopy on top of the fuselage . Then maybe it might pass as being filmable !!! lol
