Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
I like how the pods look myself. I think I may try to recreate a certain picture down the road

Wicked awesome work Seven. I love how you too, hold some of these quick and dirty ILM models close to your heart, they may hot have the beauty of an X wing....but they still played important roles in the movies.
I too, want to recreate that photo lol, just need to get my ass moving on that big round gun thingy....may start that up again soon, need to find a vacformer that can pull the size i need. bests......lee |

Jeez man you make the rest of us look like turtles. You're like a hare with a rocket strapped to its back on these build. Lol
Can't believe the progress you make! Looking great. Marvin |

Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
It moves quicker after the months and months of collecting kits
![]() Got to work on the 'directional flaps'. The trickiest part was trying to figure out where the 8rad support sits and its angle to hold 223 (B19) flap. If I had it too far forward the flap would sit flat (nor near it), if I had it too far back, it would angle the flap too high. Not sure if I got it in the right place in the end, but I like the angle of the flap at this spot. Oh, I have seen the 8rad support part (b18?) upside down in some builds and right side up in others, do we know which direction it is on the original or is it still up in the air at this time? ![]() ![]()

The darker piece looks like the coloured plastic used for stormtrooper stunts! Nice work seven, from Boba to SS

Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
I decided to put these parts together separate from the pod so when it came time to put them on, I could make each one match the other. Not sure if it was like this on the original, but I put the flak38 part upside down to give a better gluing surface to the 8rad, as well as allow the plastruct piece to slide in. Fits pretty good, and I like how it looks. Now I just need to do this three more times.

Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
All five assemblies completed and glued on. Slightly not straight, but that's the ILM way, right
?Then there's the jagdpanther track. I believe I found the right ones for it. Now, I just need to finish up with the back end. ![]() ![]()

Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
Dude, it looks awesome from here! Very clean and so organized!!!!
I'm still unsure about a few parts...would you care to share? From the Plastruct parts, I see the VHE-48 and LF-416. Is the lamp the LF-116 after all? What is the smaller green part you used? And that one flat tan piece in your pic above. I still can't find it in my kits or kit scans. Any help would be awesome! Joe |

Re: SS ESB Predator II Probot Jump Pod
The plastruct parts that I used are the LF-416 Lamp shade with the LF-116 Incandescent placed in it. The Elliptical Domes are VHE-48. As for the little green part that I put in/on top of the flak38 part is plastruct LF-3 Incandescent with shade.
The flat tan part is from the Tamiya Panzer Ausf. M/N. You'll need two of them. Last edited by seven; 05-13-2011 at 01:38 PM. |
