    Nov 16, 2011 - Scratch-built SS life boat.....(Escape Pod) #1

I was watching Jase busting his hump trying to get
this thing going about a month ago. I said to him maybe
I can help you out with the project, he was kind enough
to send me a few of the paint buckets. Now I am just waiting
on some dimensions.....so we can start to tinker around.
I like the life boat it looks Sci/Fi and real space at the same time
and it's just an amazing piece to have in ones collection.

Michael this patern Im using was done by a guy at Star Wars Design Alliance 4.0 - Star Wars Design Alliance
I just sized it up to fit kit parts & found it to be spot on.
I have attached some measurements for you.
All props to the guy who made this initial grey scale drawing.

Anyway I put some evergreen strip around the top
just below that 2nd lip and scribed it off.

I have exactly 182mm all the way around.....?

Michael sorry my computer crashed when I was trying to upload the measurements
Heres a link to the page at the site CR-90 Escape Pod
and heres the measurements I got sizing that grey scale up to kit parts.
Everything seemed to fit pretty much perfect.
You did what I thought the first time also
Its 170mm for the lower pod section then 24mm for the rockets section making it 195mm.
You just cut off the rocket section

If you look in the bottom of the bucket you see a circular indentation.
It is the perfect size at 142mm for the rocket section.
I believe they cut the foam on the anglge to that indentation forming the smaller rocket section.

Jase I need he height of.....

The second stage: (I don't need it's upward taper in the measurement just it's vertical height)

The Diameter of the top cap : (That will allow me to figure out the taper of the second stage)

The Height of the top cap: (just the ring section)
    Thanks....

The height measurements for each section run down the centre of the PDF.
The Diameters for each section are on the PDF also.
Print the PDF out to 194% & you will have a working drawaing.
    It worked for me
