Ah, I see, yeah of course they wanted it to be for the pyro chassies.
In Sculpting a Galaxy there is a pic of a head with the parts layed out. It sure looks like the pyro, and it looks molded. Maybe they did both.

Heres pics. The hatches are finished. The are not glued stuck yet, as I want to be able to add the other stuff first, might adjust them some more.
And this is where Im at with the back parts. Im now working on the maxi brute "fans".
Cheers
I always prefered this one over the atat - but they are both great!
Yeah,great scratch head,great job!
Is there possible you'll work on a Hasbro AT-AT like that in the future?
Looking forward to your work...
Excellent work and a truly wonderful thread!
You nailed the head shape, not easy at all!
Rich
I always loved the AT-AT, but the ROTJ ST has a lot of personality, it has a great combination of danger, comedy and sadeness in it. The design and movement is just genious. I cant get enough of looking at reference pics of these. Ive started to plan for the pose the other day, and looked at the ST scenes in the movie. I had to stop as my wife started to give me funny looks...I plan to make it pretty high raised, as I prefer that to the low pose like the ones in the exhibitions.
I think it would be interesting to see a nice head on the big Hasbro AT-AT as the body proportions arent that bad. Wouldnt be accurate of course, but nice and big. The problem is the amount of hours it would take, so a comission is not likely. It probably wouldnt be worth it. And I dont have that big interest in doing it for myself. But who knows?
Thanks! Hopefully I got some of the characteristics. Its a lot like making a trooper lid, building these.
I tried to build the fans, and Im still not happy with them. Really tricky to replicate parts like these IMO, at least for me. I plan to look for the real parts used, and replace these, so Ill go easy on the glue.

Yeah, gotta keep an eye out for those parts.
Gee, I think those fans look great.
Cheers Randy!Well, one of the issues is that the original holes around the fans are a little wonky, and I tried to do that to mine also. The original parts have rims though, (giving the fans an extra perfect rounded edge) and mine dont.
If I get the Maxi Brute parts Ill remove the boxes around the fans and add the new parts.
If you get a Maxi-Brute Nazgul would you part with the afterburner cans for the engines?
What are those? I havent had any coffee yet.![]()
Cheers! I did the boxes for the back. A few angles to get right, but pretty straight forward work. I also made holes for the hoses that will be added later on.
And after that it was time to glue the parts to the back. A lot of test fitting, and moving the parts around to get the right layout.
Now Im planning the side gun mounts.
Great work,so whats your plan on the side gun? Scratch build it or use the org kit part?
Thanks Talkierg! I havent decided yet.
Ive made the basic gun holders. It was some testing with different materials and how to's, but its starting to come together.
Test fitting. Ill wait with gluing until I decided how to build the gun holding construction.

Those large parts are from the Tamiya Sdkfz 222, if you wanted to use real kit parts.....at least, i think in this area the prop has kit parts.....there are very few used on this one compared to the TESB walker.

Yeah I was surprised too lol But most of the scratchbuilt parts are detailed with small kitparts. And the ROTJ has both sides detailed, that helps !I gonna count again just for fun, a few new parts were found on the TESB AT-ST and one or 2 more on the ROTJ one since I counted the first time ! Some parts are still to be found on the ROTJ
(inside the 222 turret base), but I think (I havent counted), they are more different kits used on the TESB !
