That's right rob the head is done !
Glue the rings flush and fill the crater with putty or builders bog.
Round off a little the lip and younger set !
Depending on what you want to do as far as armature or electronics etc, I would in that case tell you not to glue them yet.
I would start doing all the rings and look at assembling the lower skirt first.

I was thinking of making the "top Hat" removable? PVC tube into the dome then have the Top Hat slide into the PVC tube when covered, That way You could have access to the internals if needed. Wonder how the Real Prop internals were accessed or if they were entombed forever.

Here's a quick sketch to better describe what i explained. Could also do it from underneath the dome but will have to see what the dimensions of the ring your making is.

I'd day the where entombed, if you look at the top hat there is a notch where control wires used to trail out, these have ben hacked off now. If the hat was removable I doubt they would of chopped em off.

Good thinking though , I'm sure you can do it how ever suits you though, be great to see all the variations as we go along.

I wish I could do cad files like that, I really want to draw up the B/wing sections.

I'm going to be placing my PD order soon - does any one have a list together for what is needed?

I'm jotting down codes for the supplies I *think* I need... this is covering the spread on the c-channels in case I misinterpret the photos (I dont' want to go by the resin kit)

    C-3
    C-4
    C-6
    C-8
    C-10
    C-12
    T-4
    CFS-5

Also need to dial in the codes for:

    Style B incandescent lamps
    Style E incandescent lamps
    VHE something
tube for the "laser" base on the body
    ABS rectangular tubing

Two cylindrical tanks on the side of the body - people using Plastruct?

I am heading to the Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit this weekend. From looking at the promo pics they look to have the probe droid.

Are there any particular parts that additional reference pictures might be helpful? It looks to be sitting against a wall, so no 360

More leg pics- can't have enough of those!

The whole thing.... the juncture between the "gun" and the body - need to figure out the mount!

Theres stil lots to work out from my end on the PD as I've only replaced certain parts, re sizes aside from the plastruct lamps it all depends on what sizes you use for the legs. As far as I know there are 3 sets of these, Mine Lees and Moes, and all 3 use different size ABS for various joints. I would recommend getting ABS stock from 6.4mm up to about 16mm in the rectangle stuff and go for your own methods. The U channel you need will be sized depending on the size of rectangle tube.

Re lists, I dont have one but just copied what " I" used on my last set. These do vary on current builds though so it is best to go your own way or I could send you down a dark path. I dont have the codes in my head but used the info in Lees thread for the lamps. I'll try n dig out my plastruct order from EMA

It'll be great to see what colour you think it is, if its the same lighting as when I saw it etc then to the eye its a muted grey but the min you use flash....Boom its a poo brown

Just take as many pics from as many angles as you can, around all the leg joints will be great.

Cool. I am indeed getting a "spread" of parts, to hedge my bets, lol.

I guess I call it "C" channel because of the catalog code, and that it looks like a "C"?
