Saw these at CV and thought they were cool. During the model makers panel, they talked about how this hadn't been photographed before. Sorry they're not better.

Probably should have put this in the modeling section. Sorry,

Nope, if it's a prop, it can go here too. Though duplicating it for the SS modeling section would be sweet too.

Oh, they've been photographed, just not publicly

    But that is fantastic!!

WERE THEY ON DISPLAY? BOTH OF THEM?

C'mon you RPFers - where are the pics?

Waiting to paint mine - hopefully the new ESB book will have something, or other pics were taken from angles I don't have, so I can see if I got everything right - there's a few small areas still not quite documented fully (nose of the 223 pod) - and I'm afraid the model is probably missing a detail or two on the mount points as they exist today compared to when Pat McClung first built them.

Here's mine unpainted, next to my ESB AT-ST and George's painted pod:

The front of the pod is Fully ID'd Jason, by me in fact, from an awesome pic from Thomas (Hollywood hardware), thought that was common knowledge?

Hmm i dont think the Leichter variant has any form of detail, i dont think it was shot from the front, and the only ref ive seen, shows an open front end, revealing the internal alloy armature, unless ILM made a "capped" front end to go over this...but thats just speculation buddy. AFAIK, the 8rad was shot from the front leaving the ISD, and the the 223, from the rear as Hoth came into view.

Incidentally, i meant to add, if you check the Chronicles, and go to the Tyderium section, you can see a half built 8rad pod on the shelving, its in the pic with Tan and George, so i think they planned to build more of these at some point?

They weren't on display but part of a slideshow presentation during the Lorne Peterson panel.

Great pic. Jason. That was one enjoyable studio scale model to build, and fun to paint.
