That armature is ingenious. Never would have thought of using resin.

I'm not really getting the price complaints. The armatures were $250-300 before so thats $450-500 for the kit. The V3 was $350. Thats only $100-150 more for a more accurate kit. Also prices on supplys keep going up so that must be taken into account. Then take into account the pilot and droids and decals and the difference isn't so much anymore. Worth it from what we have seen in pics. Maybe they can sell armatures seperatly from the kits and let people buy them at different times to ease the pain but they look to be worth every penny and the price is not out of line at all.

    AWESOME job guys!!!

I have to agree with zombiekiller, this kt is definately worth the price they are asking. The castings are beautiful, the extras like droids and decals are awesome, and of course a well thought out armature. You are not going to get a kit, this well designed and with these features, for what we have paid for SS X-Wings in the past. While the kit for some is out of their price range, including me, I applaud them for investing their time, energy and love into something this spectacular. Hopefully other runs of this kit will continue and maybe one day I'll be able to grab one.

    Hey, how about layaway?

Hey, if they had Lay-By (Lay-away for you Yankees) I'd get one. I think I could afford $7.50 a week to get that.

Let's see....$750 divided by $7.50 equals......a bloody long time. Aw crap.

A three part law-away plan would make things much easier. What the hell! Doesn't hurt to ask right?

My concern would be this, introducing something new to the market place has limited shelf life even for major manufacturers e,g 'i-phones' from the first innovotive one, expensive, short supply to the market now being flooded with 'copies' (see where this is going yet?)

The same with this kit, agreed the time effort and level of detail do warrant the asking price yet it's in the producers own interest to offer as many options as possible (sans armature/lower price/lay-away payments) before someone copies/casts/provides a cheaper copy which regardless of how much frowning and growling is done over the issue of re-casting, will eventually happen and the producers then see their sales drop off even further because when pinch comes to punch 75% of folks will go for the cheaper copy, though wishing they could afford the real deal.

Personally I dont think copies will ever happen there will always be people in this hobby that want the best and are willing to pay for it I am one of them, there is a reason it costs so much becuase the time and materials put into it are equal to that value,

If someone where to make a copy which I doubt the quality will either be really bad which I doubt many people here would setlle on or it will cost around the same and I am sure I can speak on behalf of the people here that we dont like people who copy others hard work you can either afford a kit or not and you just admire the builds I for one cannot afford one as I have purchased a X recently but who knows I may get that job and I will order one or two even but for now I will admire,

If people where to settle for re casts then that would be ashame as less people will be motivated to bring us great kits like this as they will know that there work will just keep getting stolen, I hope this doesnt become the case with the quality of work I am seeing here.

Any way I think we should keep this thread on topic, once again wonderful kit!!

    Hey!
Here are some pictures taken last friday from my blackberry (sorry about the low res).
It is the second round of our "X-wing 1/24 studio scale revisited". The first ones are already at the hands of collectors around the world who are very happy with the final product.
On Monday we'll be sending more kits to their new owners in Germany, China, Canada, USA, Australia, UK,to name a few countries.
I would like to use this post to extend my gratitutde to all who have supported our project, especially my partner un crime, Rodmart, who believed in this dream as much as I did and never hesitated or doubted me and the crazy idea of making
a Studio Scale here in Chile.

We're starting a new project that'll be just as exciting as the X-wing, Rodmart is barely sleeping working on it!!
Thanks to all of you, in particular to my friend ILMWANNABE.!
    Now the pics:

Looking at the donor parts ready to be molded, I would say 32" Falcon.

I'd say those donor parts were for the mandibles and lower jaw of the big brother to the 32". The panther plate going on the chin.

    SUPERB! EPIC!

The price is a 'tad' high for my taste but what kills me is the shipping to here + the ridiculous custom fees i pay everytime for anything shipped to me.

This beauty would come to my door step, after shipping, after custom fee, probably around $1200 (maybe more... i'v had custom fees around 50% and 70% hit me before... heh)

Very nice looking kit. Top notch! As I already have a couple of X-Wings I would unfortunately not be looking at getting one.

I would, however, be very interested in buying a couple of your pilots if you would be willing to sell any?
