Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Well done Martyn!
I Ided this part of the maint pits the other day, couldn't believe I had the kit for so long without noticing it! Cool! ![]() Also Ideed one of the missing parts you can see in the black & white pics. In between the Tamiya Chieftain suspension parts resting inside the Centurion chasis you can see the front landing gear of the Revell 1/32 Phantom now missing.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Nice going Rod and Craig. Rod, so glad to see that Harrow part. Did you take the "god, they MUST have used this!" approach?
![]() I am not sure about the Phantom part. I was looking at that a while back and thinking 'well, yes, it's 1/32 jet', but I recall thinking it wasn't Phantom for some reason. Something to do with the scissor links IIRC. It WAS my first thought though...better have another look... |

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
I hear you Julien. I promise I've started to pull together the info that's now bulging out of this thread. I'm aware that if we don't have a decent set of updated maps we risk re-inventing the wheel, as the info is strung out across so many pages now.
Hope you guys all had a great Christmas ![]() |

Nick,
The docking ring map I did was mostly so I could scale my 3D Falcon. If it would help I can shoot you the .PSD file. Craig |

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Hi Craig,
Actually that would be great if you could. You did such a nice job I was going to make it the new MF001 as there's not much point in me retreading the same ground. I'll put your name to it of course ![]() my email is edge_of_resin@btinternet.com Cheers Nick |

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Nicely done Martyn!
Cool finds!! I think it's OK if we repeat ourselves from time to time with some parts, they are to many to keep them in mind and it is useful to keep refreshing the memory ![]() Bests: Rod |

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Hi guys, could this grille be from the Elefant? The photo I got was a 1/72 but the bigger scale Elefant might be a match?

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Already ID as from the Italeri 1/35th Elefant. Comes as a separate part away from the main hull.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Cheers Rod. I'll scan the StuG and post it up - I was knackered last night from work in the yard, and I *know* I've missed parts.
It's pretty evident that the ILM guys were poring over their kit boxes, at times. Where you find one part from a given kit, you often find several others nearby - I find it is useful to keep that in mind.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Cool, Martyn! I actually just modeled those little brackets on top of the docking ring. Now I know where they came from! I love those little 'trivial' bits that seem generic to find.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Yup yup yup, ditto! Funny thing though, there's about three kits' worth on there - you only get four or so in the kit. And I see no sign elsewhere that more than one StuG was used. Just that - go figure.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Yeah that detail on the Y-Wing's butt comes from the Stug III G!
You have been doing a terrific work Martyn! Here is a summary of the BMW R75 parts I have found on the 5Footer, still looking for more bits. Today I got the Fujimi 1/76 Valentine, I'll upload Kit scans later to Simon's kit scan thread. Does somebody know where this part comes from ![]() ![]() ![]() Bests: Rod Last edited by Rodmart85; 12-31-2011 at 07:46 AM. |

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's
Julien, yeh I know, but peculiar they used only one (mostly) on the Falcon *except for those tiny pieces*. As a late build I guess they'd *already* grabbed the best stuff out of the other kit boxes!
Rod, I think there's some new finds among your R75 stuff, good roundup and well done on the new finds. And as BP says, Bandai 1/48 - that's a Lycoming flat four I think? There are other 1/48 Bandai bits too IIRC, still waiting on some kits, will post after they arrive. HNY to you guys too! Last edited by Nwerke; 01-01-2012 at 09:13 AM. Reason: typo |
