Sorry guys, but this thing is huge, and very detailed, meaning it will go through molds fast. And since it's going to be a mixed medium of fiberglass and resin, it's going to be very expensive to produce. A support structure will have to be cast into the wings so they'll remain straight.
Of course I could make the whole thing out of resin, but then you'd end up with something that weighed 10 pounds and would be very hard to light.
I called several kit producers today asking what they would charge, and my estimate was based on that, actually on the low side of that estimate.
I went through this same thing before when I first released my Ent E, undercharging for it because people complained at my first price, which I now regret because it turns out I was making them at a loss.
You guys will not be happy with the price of the Slave.![]()
It's an extremely well-made kit with tons of effort and talent behind it - well worth the price.

It's beautiful... and well worth the price you're quoting.
Don't be sorry REL. MPC makes some fine models (ack!!) for the folks who don't really understand.
Looks like an awesome kit! Wish i could afford it.![]()
Go for it Rich, i think there are a few dreamers, but this is one hell of an opportunity for many, and worth every penny, just look at it guys, its a mammoth build......$500 or less......
I agree, there are quite a few who will balk at the Slave too....they have no clue what it even costs to pattern up the hull master, let alone pony up donor kits, then the old rubber/ resin thingy pops up again.......id suggest Finemolds

This model will be worth every penny ! Rich's castings will do justice to Neil's master, this kit will be trully a piece of art, cant wait to see the first pulls !
Sorry to go OT, but I thought the Slave 1 wasn't going to make it as a kit. Just a small run to the group that gathered all the info alnd all. Glad is not like this.
Rich, will you be offering a two part payment or something simmilar? I Just want to know to start saving even MORE pennies.
Back on topic I'm sure the kit will be amazing, shme I can't afford it, because the "Art Deco" look of the Imperial Shuttle makes it one of muy favourite ship designs of the trilogy.
I understand very well!!!and i wish i had the funds for what i know is going to be a outstanding kit. Just because me and others don't have the funds to buy whats going to be a great kit does'nt mean we don't understand what it will take to bring this kit to life.
Still interested, let me know when you have final numbers.
I cant wait to get my teeth into one (or 2) of these, I do count myself fortunate to be able to buy these amazing pieces & would love to be a confirmed customer when any lists are open, great great work chaps & Like Julien I cant wait to see the first pulls.
In this model went so much time an dedication, let alone the materials costs. But the craftsmanship is incredible, so I guess I'm in.
Please don't try go the cheap casting road (no reinforcements etc), as I still hate how the SS AT-ST (ROTJ) was made. That thing took me hours to build and now it's sagging, because the legs were not reinforced with steel rods or similar.
Please put me on the list!
Thomas
It's not gonna be everyone's price tag, but it's not unreasonable considering the scope of the product.![]()
Wow, what can i say.
That's a very impossible and nice kit. What is the price we must pay?
A outstanding kit...
Andreas![]()
Stated about,no less than $875 and no more than $1,000.I definately would need to arrange some sort of payment installment(unless I win the lottery?)
Oh well, i should have seen this coming... but it's still a nice model... guess i'll wait for the final price before making any move. i might have a reason to do more overtime btu wit WF kit lineup, it's going to heart breaking...
