DV tie -- mpc ertl amt

i see i need to pick a mpc dv tie fighter (for the bomber). some call it the ertl dv tie fighter. i just saw an amt/ertl dv tie fighter in the store. even though i don't see any one calling it the "amt/ertl" dv tie fighter (in bomber discussions), is it safe to assume they are all the same kit...or has some retooling occurred?

The kit was originally made by MPC in '78. MPC was bought by ERTL in the
early '80s, which in turn was bought by AMT. Hence all the brand confusion

As for as I know, the tooling is the same. Though the color of the plastic varies.
